Γειά σας! ("Hello" in Greek) I am Eleni, I am Greek, born and bred in Thessaloniki! I just can't imagine me living anywhere else! My city has a powerful magnet that I am sure it will attract you as well! It inspired poets and composers that wrote poems and songs for her, (yes, its "her", a woman, as Greeks say, I will explain everything in person!). Moreover, its a town where East meets West, it's the city that Kemal Attatourk was born, where Apostole Paul preached and sent his first and second letters to the Thessalonians and where the Jews went after being expeled from Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain in 1492. A city where you meet history in every corner, a city famous for its magnificent food and exceptional sweets as well as for the relaxing walks by the sea. Come to see with your own eyes that despite the financial crisis Southern Greeks didn't lost their "kefi", enthousiasm and love for life! In 2011, the annual publication of «Louis Vuitton City Guide - European Cities», included Thessaloniki in the "unexpected cities" because of the wine and culinary experience it offers. That same year, the newspaper «New York Times» included Thessaloniki " in the top 41 destinations to be visited in 2011". At the same time, the Australian newspaper «Sun Herald», added Thessaloniki at the proposed European travel destinations. Now, about me: I work in a Day Center for elderly people with memory problems. I designed a non-pharmacological intervention for elderly people with mild to moderate depression to visit the sightseeings of our town (for a period of 4 months). It had really good results and I had really enjoyed it so much that I decided to work as a guide as well! I hope to cheer you up too! I provide tours in English (and Greek of course)! I encourage you to ask me whatever you want to and tell me where to focus to meet your interests. As a person I am optimistic, patient and enthousiastic! I love travelling and communicating with people from different cultures! In my free time I love to go out with my friends in tavernas and cafes, to sing, to dance, to climb on mountains, to swim, to read literature and to do window-shopping! So, take advantage of my enthousiasm and passion for what I do and let me show you my city, it's history, legends, the life of the average people, everything through the eyes of a local! I have a driving license and I own a small car so we can use it to go whenever we want to (up to 4 adults!) I have a degree in psychology and a diploma in psychodrama, psychotherapy. I have a degree in "Greek Civilization" Please be aware that only licenced guides can do tours inside museums so we can visit these places together but I have to make my comments before we enter.

70 minutes from Thessaloniki is Dion. Lying in the shadow of Mt. Olympus, Dion was the "sacred place" of the ancient Macedonians. From very ancient times, a large altar had been set up for the worship of Zeus and his daughters, the Muses, in a unique environment: rich vegetation, towering trees, countless springs and a navigable river. In the 5th century B. C, when the Macedonian state acquired great power and emerged onto the stage of history, brilliant athletic and theatrical contests, the "Olympian Games of Dion" were organized there. In Dion you can admire the findings of the museum and walk in the archaeological park. During summer we can go in Litoxoro or Platamonas for a swim in the sea. 40 minutes from Dion is an old traditional village called "Palaios Panteleimonas" with an exceptional view where you can admire the local architecture and enjoy a really delicious meal!

My car, a 2018 Suzuki ignis, is a small but clean and well preserved car with A/C. It can accomodate a maximum of 4 adults (not including the driver, me!). Of course you could rent a bigger car (I can drive it as well) without any cost except the cost of the car and gas we will use.
