"As long as Thessaloniki exists, no one can ever feel like an outcast" (N. Choumnos, 14th-c) Hello, and welcome! My name is Panagiotis. I feel content that Thessaloniki—the most charming and hospitable city in Greece—has always been my home. After finishing high school, I decided to channel my passion for the past into studying History and Archaeology at Aristotle University, where I earned my BA. Today, as a fully licensed tour guide throughout Greece, I share the endless stories of my city with travelers who are fascinated by history, art, theology, architecture, and archaeology—or who are simply interested in exploring Thessaloniki through the eyes of a local. I offer a wide variety of tours—some of which you won’t find listed here on Tours by Locals. Whether you’re looking to explore the past, take an interesting walk through our vibrant neighborhoods, or follow culinary trails through Thessaloniki’s famous flavors, I would be more than happy to assist you. In just a few minutes or hours from Thessaloniki—Philippi, Beroea (Veria), Xanthi, Kastoria, Florina, Lake Kerkini, Meteora, Pella, Vergina, and many more—Northern Greece always offers pleasant surprises that meet all kinds of travelers' expectations. Feel free to get in touch with me and plan the perfect itinerary. Enjoy your stay in Greece! Credentials: • BA in History & Archaeology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki • Licensed & Qualified Tourist Guide, University of the Aegean (Rhodes) • Certificate of Proficiency in English, University of Michigan • HeriQ Certificate in Heritage Storytelling, Quality Interpretation No restrictions.

Our day begins with a cup of Greek coffee or tea from your place at Thessaloniki, setting the perfect tone for an exciting day ahead. As we hit the road towards Meteora, the trip becomes more than just a distance covered - it is an exploration of the landscapes of Macedonia and Thessaly. Meteora, a place that holds a special spot in my heart, is a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and spirituality. I vividly remember the awe of my first visit more than a decade ago! En route, we encounter "Skites", small monastic retreats tucked away in serene corners where monks seek solitude. A pause here allows us to feel the tranquility that envelops these hidden gems, far from the reach of large buses. We explore two of the six magnificent monasteries that grace this unique landscape, discovering hidden details that often go unnoticed. I will also reveal my favorite spots for great pictures. Lunch at Kalambaka becomes the interlude before our driver navigates us back to Thessaloniki.

Our family was delighted to spend the day visiting Meteora with Panos and George. They made the day so special for us visiting two monasteries made all the more fascinating with Panos at our side. The area is so unique you will not want to miss it on your trip to Greece. A highlight of the day was getting to spend some downtime with Panos and George to enjoy a wonderful lunch before heading back to Thessaloniki.
Such an incredible day for my family, ranging in ages from 10 to 78. Panagiotis and George, the driver, put together a really lovely day that helped us to experience this amazing area of Greece. Panagiotis was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. Above and beyond in all aspects from telling us all about Greece as we drove through the countryside to knowing special less-crowded areas to experience Meteora. Ten stars out of five! We would absolutely recommend him to everyone!
Meteora is a splendid place and my wife and I feel fortunate to have had Panagiotis as a guide.
