Explore Milos your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Milos tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Milos for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Swim through the Kleftiko sea caves on a private boat, snorkelling in quiet coves your guide chooses for clear water that day, and paddle a sea kayak along Sarakiniko’s white volcanic shoreline to explore rock arches and watch for cormorants. In spring, stop at the Alykes salt pans near Adamas to look for herons and occasional flamingos, then visit a small farm to taste caper leaves and local cheese while goats graze the thyme-covered hills.

City highlights tours: Climb through Plaka’s lanes to the Venetian Kastro and Panagia Korfiatissa, explore the early Christian Catacombs and the Ancient Theatre above Trypiti, and stroll the colourful syrmata boat-houses in Klima and Mandrakia for photos right on the water. Add the Milos Mining Museum in Adamas to see how obsidian and minerals shaped local life, and sample pitarakia cheese pies or sun-dried octopus at a seaside taverna your guide recommends.

Milos is walkable inside villages like Plaka, Adamas, and Pollonia, but sights are spread out and the seasonal bus service runs infrequently; several beaches and Kleftiko are best reached by boat. For an easier day, ask your local guide about chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or combine land tours with a private boat to reach remote coves.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Milos inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Milos

From Milos, short hops bring you to beaches, fishing villages, and a sister island, so day trips stay easy, and flexible tours keep the day paced the way you like.

Kimolos: A quick ferry ride from Pollonia lands you on a quiet island with a lived‑in main village, tidy lanes, and calm beaches like Prassa. Great if you want a slower rhythm, simple food, and low‑key swims without crowds.

Sarakiniko: The white rock “moonscape” is all about light, shapes, and easy exploring, with spots for safe jumps when the sea is calm. Ideal for photos, short walks, and a swim you can fit between other stops.

Plaka, Tripiti, and Klima: Hilltop lanes lead to sunset viewpoints above Plaka, with nearby Tripiti for windmills and sea outlooks, then down to Klima’s colourful boathouses at the water. A neat mix for history fans and anyone chasing colour and texture.

Kleftiko (by boat): Sea caves, clear water, and sheltered coves make a relaxed day on the south coast, with time for snorkelling and wide‑angle photos. If you want a water‑focused day, your tour can centre on Kleftiko and add a quiet beach on the way back.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Milos most travellers miss.
