Introducing you to "Ano Poli"!

I pick you up from your hotel by my car and our tour begins by visiting Trigonion tower. The view is astonishing! Then we visit Yedi Kule, a Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress converted to a prison, many references of which exist in the Greek rebetika songs. Following we visit "Moni Vlatadon", also known as "Tsaous Monastery" (UNESCO Heritage). Next we visit the Christian Orthodox Church of Ag. Dimitrios, the patron saint of the town. The church is part of the paleochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki (also on the list of UNESCO Heritage Sites). In the basement of the church we can visit the catacombs. Afterwards, we visit the Ancient Market. This spot was the centre of activities of Thessaloniki for about 8 centuries, almost from the foundation of the town. Our tour ends with a nice meal at a nearby taverna where you will have the opportunity to try some local specialties! Note: Areas to be visited can be tailored to suit your particular interests.
