"As long as Thessaloniki exists, no one can ever feel like an outcast" (N. Choumnos, 14th-c) Hello, and welcome! My name is Panagiotis. I feel content that Thessaloniki—the most charming and hospitable city in Greece—has always been my home. After finishing high school, I decided to channel my passion for the past into studying History and Archaeology at Aristotle University, where I earned my BA. Today, as a fully licensed tour guide throughout Greece, I share the endless stories of my city with travelers who are fascinated by history, art, theology, architecture, and archaeology—or who are simply interested in exploring Thessaloniki through the eyes of a local. I offer a wide variety of tours—some of which you won’t find listed here on Tours by Locals. Whether you’re looking to explore the past, take an interesting walk through our vibrant neighborhoods, or follow culinary trails through Thessaloniki’s famous flavors, I would be more than happy to assist you. In just a few minutes or hours from Thessaloniki—Philippi, Beroea (Veria), Xanthi, Kastoria, Florina, Lake Kerkini, Meteora, Pella, Vergina, and many more—Northern Greece always offers pleasant surprises that meet all kinds of travelers' expectations. Feel free to get in touch with me and plan the perfect itinerary. Enjoy your stay in Greece! Credentials: • BA in History & Archaeology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki • Licensed & Qualified Tourist Guide, University of the Aegean (Rhodes) • Certificate of Proficiency in English, University of Michigan • HeriQ Certificate in Heritage Storytelling, Quality Interpretation No restrictions.

Ano Poli is known as the Old Town of Thessaloniki. It is one of the very few areas that the great fire of Thessaloniki (1917) left untouched. Consequently, it is very different to the rest of the city. Fascinating houses, beautiful doors, stone-paved alleyways, old churches and historical sites synthesize its story! The streets are full of life all over the year. Children playing in neighborhoods' streets, students spending time with friends, old men and women taking care their properties. Those are all images you should not miss, when visiting Thessaloniki. I truly believe that people always make the difference. Ano Poli's old houses and mansions always give us an opportunity to admire and talk about local architecture. The Towers, the Walls and the Byzantine churches (all listed in the UNESCO) witness Thessaloniki's rich past. And, I promise there is much more. It will be my pleasure to walk and share with you my knowledge and understandings.
