I studied in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated with a BA in History and Archaeology. I left for London, UK where I lived for six years. I never stopped missing home, so I decided to return. Apart from guiding, I am a doctoral candidate in the Aristotle University in History and Moral Philosophy. I sing and have a deep connection with music and I truly love animals. I am a faithful lover of history and philosophy and thus decided to share my passion with travellers and become a tourist guide. I haven't looked back since. It is a job in which I feel I have found my true self. I am based in Thessaloniki, but I deliver tours all around Northern Greece, thematically and spatially diverse. I strongly believe that guides are cultural ambassadors of their land and as such they are tasked with providing an, above all, authentic outlook into the world they originate from. In this tour we follow the footsteps of Saint Paul the Apostle who visited Greece for the first time during his second missionary journey in 49-50 AD. This is a landmark event for the history of the world. We will recreate the historical, philosophical and religious framework that Paul found himself in. We will travel to the city of Veroia, where we will visit the rostrum of Paul, from where, according to tradition he preached to the gentiles of the city, before moving on to the old Jewish Quarter for a stop at the Synagogue which stands on top of the ancient synagogue where Paul preached to the Jews. We will return to the city of Thessaloniki and visit the Upper town where two specific locations are connected to Paul's visit. This is the monastery of Vlatades and the Spring of Saint Paul. We will also visit the Basilica of Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica where we can actually witness the transformation from the old pagan to the new Christian world that starts into he 4th century AD.
Dimitrios is a very personable guide who tells the history of the region with enthusiasm. He provided information gathered via oral tradition as well as what historians believe. Any question we asked, he gave a full answer with supporting evidence. History, religion, literature and a bit of sociology made our understanding of this region throughout the ages and Paul’s journey more tangible. Aside from being an excellent orator, Dimitrios was patient and thorough.
Our tour was absolutely wonderful. We got off to a slightly rough start due to a tour bus striking our vehicle. I was worried that our tour would not occur but the situation was quickly handled in a way that caused no real delay at all. The tour is really much more than sightseeing and history. Dimitrios’ passion for the subject is clearly evident. We gained an understanding of Paul’s journey in the area and also that of other religious people of importance in the history of the Christian church. We were both very moved by all that we learned. I cannot more highly recommend this tour and guide.
What a fantastic tour. Dimitrios was so knowledgeable and gave us information about the history of the area, how it pertained to Paul’s ministry and in bringing people to the faith. He was so kind to work with our schedule and allow us time to have a traditional Greek meal. Highly recommend this tour

Dimitris gave an unforgettable and informative tour as we visited places of Apostle Paul’s second missionary journey in Veria (Beroea) and Thessaloniki. The tour was meaningful as he read Bible scripture linking the places and people associated with Paul’s visit; this made the tour come to life. Dimitris’s thoughtful questions and storytelling made for a perfect final tour to wrap up our trip.
Visiting Greece this time, our focus was on following the footsteps of Paul, and learning more about his missionary journey though the country, as well as early Christianity. Finding Dimitrios to guide us was such a blessing. He is a wealth of knowledge both in history and religion. He connected the historical context of the time to christianity, explaining how and why Christianity became mainstream. Without the historical background of the time, you miss the fullness of the story as a Christ Follower. When Dimitrios provides you all of the insight, it not only connects the dots, but deepens your awe of the Lord. For a Christ Follower, this tour is a must and having Dimitrios as your guide is also. He is extremely passionate about what he does and is devoted to ensuring you not only enjoy the tour, but learn about Paul and his journey to spread The Gospel.
