Hello everybody! My name is Nikos. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki and this is where I make a living as a professional licensed tourist guide since 2014. I do hold a Bachelor's degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Ioannina and a Master's degree in Black Sea Cultural Studies from Thessaloniki's International University, but I strongly believe that a guided tour should not be only about facts and dates. It should also be about the place itself: the people, the anecdotes, the stories that do not fit in history books. So, hopefully, together we are going to not only explore the history and the sights of this magnificent place but also feel the beating heart of the city. I have been providing tours professionally in Thessaloniki and all over Greece for over a decade now, but every time feels like a fresh start. There is nothing like being outside, in the open air, with good company and showing the place you love, sharing the details and secrets that make it special. And if I can show you why this place is special to me, then it will become special to you too! I have a few tours planned but, please, do not hesitate to ask me about anything you might want anywhere in northern Greece or maybe all over the country. Overview of your Thessaloniki tour

The Tombs of Vergina is the most important archaeological site in all of northern Greece and definitely my personal favourite in the whole country. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm about this place with you! It is a museum/archaeological site/burial site, since the museum is built around the magnificent ancient tombs of the Macedonian kings! It is one of the most interesting and important archaeological sites in a country full of interesting and important archaeological sites! Enter the ancient tombs and discover the golden artifacts, the weapons, the traditions and, above all, the story of one of the most important historical figures of ancient Greece: King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. I will guide you through the exhibition sharing stories about the artifacts and the buildings we see along the way, making sure that, by the time the tour is over, you will have the same feeling of awe as I do every single time I walk into this museum!

Nikos gave us an absolutely the perfect mix of Thessaloniki and the Macedonian tombs! One surprise in town was the metro station but once you hear the story you totally understand. The tombs were so unexpected! Wow, so much gold! He was also flexible. He has a passion for history and it really came through in his explanations. He made every thing approachable and interesting. He flipped the order so to avoid a city festival. Plus, we were able to add people a few days before the tour. We were very happy with how he personalized the tour for us. We all think Thessaloniki is a hidden gem!
