"Whoever travels without a guide, needs two hundred years for a two-day journey. " (Rumi, 13th century AD) Hello dear travellers. I am Dimitrios. I was born in Thessaloniki and grew up in the city. I studied in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated with a BA in History and Archaeology. I left for London, UK where I lived for six years. I never stopped missing home, so I decided to return. Apart from guiding, I am a doctoral candidate in the Aristotle University in History and Moral Philosophy. I sing and have a deep connection with music and I truly love animals. I am a faithful lover of history and philosophy and thus decided to share my passion with travellers and become a tourist guide. I haven't looked back since. It is a job in which I feel I have found my true self. I am based in Thessaloniki, but I deliver tours all around Northern Greece, thematically and spatially diverse. I strongly believe that guides are cultural ambassadors of their land and as such they are tasked with providing an, above all, authentic outlook into the world they originate from. This is my main principle when providing tours. I am licensed to guide throughout Greece, but I am very much in love, for life, with Thessaloniki and the region of Macedonia. Thessaloniki and the wider geographical region of Macedonia have so much to offer to a traveller and have indeed managed to maintain much of their originality. I cordially invite you to book a tour to experience northern Greece in the fullest or get in touch so we can create your one-of-a-kind tour together. - BA in History & Archaeology-Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. - Licensed & Qualified Tourist Guide-Alumnus of the 2-year School of Tourist Guides of Thessaloniki of the Greek Ministry of Tourism. - Master's Degree (MSc)-SOAS, University of London. - Master's Degree (MA)-King's College London. - PhD candidate in History and Moral Philosophy in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. No restrictions.

Thessaloniki is a city more than 2300 years old. It is home to two amazing museums (out of the very many) which allow us to connect with the very fabric of the city. The archaeological museum houses a wonderful collection of artifacts from the prehistoric, archaic, classical, Hellenistic to Roman to late antiquity periods. Did you know a sanctuary of the Egyptian gods existed in the city for more that 600 years? We will discover this and other hidden gems of the city's history. The Byzantine museum houses an amazing collection of findings from the 4th to the 15th centuries AD which include religious artifacts but also many many others. The history of the transformation of the old pagan world to the new christian one will be right before our eyes. We will really see history in the making.
