Hello everybody! My name is Nikos. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki and this is where I make a living as a professional licensed tourist guide since 2014. I do hold a Bachelor's degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Ioannina and a Master's degree in Black Sea Cultural Studies from Thessaloniki's International University, but I strongly believe that a guided tour should not be only about facts and dates. It should also be about the place itself: the people, the anecdotes, the stories that do not fit in history books. So, hopefully, together we are going to not only explore the history and the sights of this magnificent place but also feel the beating heart of the city. I have been providing tours professionally in Thessaloniki and all over Greece for over a decade now, but every time feels like a fresh start. There is nothing like being outside, in the open air, with good company and showing the place you love, sharing the details and secrets that make it special. And if I can show you why this place is special to me, then it will become special to you too! I have a few tours planned but, please, do not hesitate to ask me about anything you might want anywhere in northern Greece or maybe all over the country. Share your idea and together we are going to create a brand new experience! I hope I will have the chance to meet you and show you around but, if not, enjoy Thessaloniki, enjoy Macedonia, enjoy this amazing place! I am a licensed Tourist Guide BA in History & Archaeology Masters in Black Sea Cultural Studies I only guide in English.

The history of Thessaloniki is multi-layered, so it makes sense that the cuisine of this city is not only delicious but also full of historical nuances. Many people have populated this place through the centuries and there is no better reflection of this anywhere else than in its own cuisine. The Ottomans, the Jews, the refugees from Turkey can all be found on our plates and this is why the cuisine of Thessaloniki was recently introduced into UNESCO's Creative Cities of Gastronomy network. Having been living here almost all my life, I will take you to taste all the food that has shaped my memories and makes me fall in love with this place over and over again, with every new bite, while also visiting the markets of the city and giving you a taste (pun intended) of life in it. Considered to be Greece's gastronomical capital, the cuisine of Thessaloniki awaits you to explore, taste and enjoy!
Great food tour of Thessaloniki. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour and encourage when you are visiting the city.
Best tour ever!!!! It did not even feel like a tour; it felt like Nikos was a friend and we were hanging out and eating our way through an afternoon. We had such a great time! Nikos knows everything about Thessaloniki. Not only did Nikos show us the best food, but he answered all our questions about like in Thessaloniki and what it is like to live there. He truly is a local. We had a delightful afternoon which ended at a very small local restaurant. We drank arak and ate local delicacies which were excellent. The staff was so friendly and made the experience that much better. If you go to Thessaloniki, you must book this tour!!
Nikos was prompt, friendly, and informative. He was aware of our needs and wants, and worked with us. Great FOOD TOUR in Thessoloniki.
We had an amazing day with Nikos. We learned about the many facets of Greek cuisine while tasting many sweet and savory dishes. Nikos was knowledgeable about the history of Thessaloniki and provided a great walking tour of the city. He was professional and fun. I highly recommend this tour with Nikos.
Nikos was extraordinarily interesting, articulate and knowledgeable. The food on the tour was varied and all excellent but this was much more than just about food. It was also an opportunity to learn about the city, its history and the people who live here. Highly recommended tour and guide.
We will make a brief walk through the center of the city, from the White Tower to Aristotelous square, and along the way we are going to taste all sorts of treats, beginning with a Greek coffee and ending with some tsipouro (our alcoholic beverage of choice) and meze (accompanying plates of treats). Throughout the tour we are going to taste spanakopita (spinach pie), panorama triangles, syrup desserts, olives, koulouri (bagel) and bougatsa (Thessaloniki's trademark food). Between tastings we are going to visit the markets of the city's center, browsing all sorts of local products. Of course, if there is anything specific that you would like to visit or taste or have any sort of allergies or dietary restrictions, please tell me and we will shape the tour to your needs!
