Hello everybody! My name is Nikos. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki and this is where I make a living as a professional licensed tourist guide since 2014. I do hold a Bachelor's degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Ioannina and a Master's degree in Black Sea Cultural Studies from Thessaloniki's International University, but I strongly believe that a guided tour should not be only about facts and dates. It should also be about the place itself: the people, the anecdotes, the stories that do not fit in history books. So, hopefully, together we are going to not only explore the history and the sights of this magnificent place but also feel the beating heart of the city. I have been providing tours professionally in Thessaloniki and all over Greece for over a decade now, but every time feels like a fresh start. There is nothing like being outside, in the open air, with good company and showing the place you love, sharing the details and secrets that make it special. And if I can show you why this place is special to me, then it will become special to you too! I have a few tours planned but, please, do not hesitate to ask me about anything you might want anywhere in northern Greece or maybe all over the country. Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece with a history that spans thousands of years. You might know her as sister of Alexander the Great, as a mermaid or maybe as the only co-capital of the world. To me however she's just "home". And I cannot think of anything better than welcoming you home and showing you everything this place has to offer! The history of Thessaloniki is multi-layered. Ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, Jews and all sorts of people have populated this little corner of the world through the centuries. Let me walk you around and together we are going to explore and find out everything there is to know about this place! From the Byzantine churches and the Ottoman remnants to the vibrant markets and the modern subway we are going to visit every major landmark and monument of this beautiful city. Of course, if there are any specific places of interest you would like to visit, please let me know so that we can create a custom tour tailor-made to your interests and needs!
Nikos took us to places that we were interested in, but also made sure we saw the highlights even stopped for a local snack and made it an overall fun and interesting and informative day. I would highly recommend spending your day with him for the tour

Nikos gets my vote for most intrepid tour guide. He put together a wonderful tour hitting just what I had requested. When we met it was raining and it rained the entire tour. But that did not slow Nikos one bit!! Great tour, great information and historical background, and a fun guy to hang out with too!! Highly recommend!!
Nikos is highly intelligent, personable and has a great sense of humor. He organized a private walking tour for just the two of us and filled it with history, politics, culture and Greek charm. Despite the on again off again rain we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. He truly made the history of Thessaloniki come alive for us in 3.5 hours.
Super interesting way to visit this wonderfull museum. Very informative and allowing to spot artifacts which would be hard to notice. My 9 year old daughter loved the visit to the museum with Nicos. Highly recommended

I have designed a route that begins from the statue of Alexander the Great and ends at Aristotelous square, but I can gladly pick you up from your hotel. In between we are going to visit the White Tower, the complex of Galerius (palace, arch, rotunda), the UNESCO-listed churches of St Demetrios and Acheiropoietos as well as the Kapani market, among others. If there are specific places you would like to visit, just tell me and we'll do it. This tour is highly adjustable!
