Explore Poros your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Poros tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Poros for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Follow pine-scented trails on Kalavria to the Zoodochos Pigi Monastery, spotting tortoises, lizards, and seabirds while your guide points out aromatic herbs used in local cooking. Or head by boat to Love Bay and Russian Bay for guided snorkelling over seagrass meadows, with a chance to see cormorants diving and, if you’re lucky, dolphins cruising the Saronic Gulf.

Day trip tours: Zip by private boat to Hydra for a stroll around its car-free harbour, a short hike to a hilltop cannon post, and a swim at Vlychos before a seafood lunch. Prefer the mainland? Cross by water taxi to Galatas for the Lemonodasos (Lemon Forest) and then continue by private vehicle to the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus or the Methana peninsula’s hot springs and volcanic views.

Adventure tours: Sea-kayak along the coast to the 19th‑century Russian Naval Station, beach at sheltered coves, then snorkel clear water around rocky islets. Or tackle the Methana crater hike from Kameni Chora and scramble the Diavologefyro (Devil’s Bridge) gorge near Trizina, with your guide managing timing, gear, and route options.

Poros Town is compact and walkable, and water taxis make the quick hop to Galatas easy; a small local bus and taxis link beaches like Neorio and the monastery. For farther sites or steep hills, you can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange transit that fits your plans.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Poros inside and out.

Methana Peninsula: Hike a marked trail to a volcano crater and stroll over old lava fields, soak in simple thermal springs, and stop in fishing villages for a low key day built around geology, sea views, and easy local food.

Aegina: Sail to an island known for pistachios and the hilltop Temple of Aphaia, explore markets in Aegina Town, and add a swim at a nearby beach, a good mix for light archaeology, snacks, and relaxed sea time.

Nafplio: Make it a fuller day to reach this Venetian era port with neoclassical lanes, climb the steps to Palamidi Fortress if you want the view, and wander the waterfront and Bourtzi islet by boat when the light gets soft.
