Many historians wonder "What could be the city of Thessaloniki without the Ottomans?". Probably, it wouldn't be one of the most known cities of the Ottoman Empire and the so-called jewel of northern Greece during that time. Thessaloniki is very closely related to its Ottoman past shaping not only the history but the form of the city itself. On this very special and one-of-a-kind walking tour, we will experience life during the Ottoman age of Thessaloniki and explore places and monuments you will never see on any other tour. This is a walking tour with many stops so it could be a good idea to bring enough water or maybe snacks.
Our stops will be the following starting from the top of the city and ending near the port: -Fortness of Eptapyrgion -Triangular Tower -The faucet of Namica Hanum -The Mosque of Musa Baba -The poorhouse of Alaja Imaret -The ottoman faucet of Olympiados street -Geni Hamam -Bey Hamam -Hamza Bey Mosque -The Market of Bezesteni -Giahundi Hamam -The Tower of Vardaris
