Greetings from Greece! My name is Nektarios and I am a local at the city of Athens. I speak Greek and English fluently and I have been working as a licensed taxi driver and tour guide for the past 18 years. I chose this profession because I have always liked cars and driving in general. I am also a car engineer graduate and I work part time as a high school professor. This has given me the chance always be aware of my vehicles and be able to understand and overcome any situation. My current vehicle is a Mercedes E class. I believe that one word that would perfectly describe my personality is passionate. Passionate about my country. Passionate about my work. Passionate to adapt and try to do the best I can. I have always loved Greece and especially its rich history and culture. In fact, I can hardly think of a time that I did not want to open another history or mythology book in order to further extend my knowledge. Seven years ago I gave my first tour around Athens and so I had my first chance to try to pass my passion to others. I've loved it ever since. After that I have been working hard gathering pictures, videos and additional information to provide my customers with. Finding various local restaurants for them to try the famous Greek traditional cuisine and small out-of-the-way places that attract way less travellers and provide them with unique experiences. I am also one of the few Private Drivers in Athens who has passed and been issued with a Greek Certification Diploma from 2007 as a certified driver-guide by EOT (Greek National Tourism Organization), Everything I do is for my customer's satisfaction, happiness and entertainment. What a fantastic day. Nektarios is an excellent guide, driver and historian. We drove from Athens to Corinth and Nemea. Along the way, he shared the history of Athens, and the places we were about to visit. There were even a few multimedia presentations including maps and videos! He spoke at length on Greek life and culture. The wine tour and tasting was very enjoyable. A perfect conclusion to a fascinating and informative day. This was a last minute tour and we hit the jack-pot. Nektarios took us to all of the listed sites on the tour. If you have been to Panama, think steeper sides and skinnier for the Corinth Canal - it is just amazing. All of the antiquity sites are visited, big difference is there are no crowds here. You might want to ask about having some guides that can take you through the site. But most (if you do your homework) you should be able to get through. We ended the day with wine tasting at a great local
Your Athens tour itinerary
We will start the tour with a beautiful scenic ride along the coast. After a while we will stop at the Corinth canal where we will enjoy its views and take lots of photos. Then we will head to ancient Corinth and marvel its Acropolis (also named Acrocorinth). We will continue discovering Argolis by visiting the ancient site of Nemea and temple of Zeus. Finally, after seeing all the sight and learning their history, you will have time to relax at Bairaktaris winery where you will taste many different and unique Greek wines. -Bear in mind that the itinerary can be adjusted based on traffic or your preferences.
