LICENSED GUIDE-ARCHAEOLOGIST Welcome to Grece! Welcome home! "Philos"-friend- is a very old greek universal word. The Odyssey is a story of travelling, Odysseus: " had seen the cities of a lot of people and their way of thinking he has understood". I love traveling, I am doing this job not only because I want to show you my country but also because I want to hear about yours. I am a licensed tourist guide and archaeologist who will give you correct historical information with the insight of a local. I have worked in several parts of Greece - Santorini was my favourite - and now I am in Athens, my hometown. Athens is not just the Acropolis, it is a dynamic city with strong personality and many things to talk about We can arrange a variety of tours here or go on one / two days trips to Delphi, ancient Olympia, Mycene e. t. c. . I look forward to meeting you and showing you my country. I promise you an authentic and most enjoyable tour!! Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Licence of Tourist Guide. National Kapodistrian University of Athens: Degree of History and Archaeology. Master of Science in Prehistoric Archaeology of the Aegean.

The oracle of Apollo has advised kings and cities for 1200 years. The mystery of this place is a challenge to the scientists. I have always liked Apollo for his complexity. The idea of an oracle built on the "navel of the earth", answering with riddles is like a mystery game. I have lots of memories from my time there as a student of archaeology. Around the temple there is the dramatic landscape of mountain Parnassus. The beauty of the mountains and the sky is the ideal setting for the Charioteer, one of my most favourite pieces of art ever. This and many other masterpieces like the Sphinx and pieces of gold and ivory can be seen in the museum For a bit of leisure, for tasty food and wine, traditional villages a few minutes away like the lovely village of Arachova, a favourite ski resort of the Greeks.

Nota is a real archaeologist! One who has spent much time actually digging; not just superficial book knowledge like some others. Hence, she gave us some incredible insights about Delphi and Greek ancient history. A full day trip from Athens in a comfortable air conditioned mini-van with a welcome rest stop along the way to breakup the drive. After 2 amazing hours of touring ruins and museum, she arranged a delicious local lunch for us with a killer view on the terrace and afterwards a short ride to a scenic overlook of the entire valley. When my family and I do return to Athens in the future, Nota will be the first person that I contact. She is everything that we could have hoped for in a professional guide.
Our tour of Delphia with Nota was a great success. Nota is a licensed guide who also arranged for a driver to take us from our Athens hotel to Delphi. All the logistics were perfect. To save time Nota gave instruction on how to purchase timed entry tickets using a cell phone while at a rest stop before getting to Delphi. At Delphi we saw the site and then the museum – she gave an excellent description of the amazing bronze charioteer. We did not feel rushed – we felt like we were getting a great description of the history of this beautiful place. We finished the tour with lunch in the village of Delphi with excellent local cuisine – we particularly liked their homemade Vermouth and local green beans. The driver Nota arranged, Dimitris, was excellent: safe, with a clean car equipped with chargers, and chatty with useful, interesting, information during the long car drive. Overall this is a great day trip from Athens.
What a great day , fun and informative , like hanging out with your favorite professor , lunch was terrific, and our driver was great
Our guide Nora was excellent. She brought to life the museum at Delphi and explained with feeling and appreciation in the Greek traditions and history. It was the most inspiring event and we can’t thank her enough.
Great day at Delphi with Nota. My husband and I were picked up from our hotel in Athens by Nota and her driver. She was punctual and friendly and professional from the start. We rode in a lovely, large comfortable van. The trip is long, 2.5 hours, however, worth the drive. We pass by beautiful mountain villages and valleys. Nota took her time with us climbing Delphi. She was very considerate. She did a great job explaining each historical piece and made the events there come to life. We then had a tour of the museum. The museum is very interesting, and again Nota did a great job explaining the highlights. We then had a lovely lunch at Delphi village with scenic views. It was a memorable side trip from Athens that was quite enjoyable. Nota and the driver were great. Thanks Nota!
