Hello from beautiful Greece! My name is Markos! I will be more than happy to drive you through my Country's History and Civilization in my Licensed, Smoke-Free, air-conditioned, latest-model Mercedes Minivan or brand-new Mercedes Minibus! About 10 years ago, I decided to follow my passion and get involved in the tourism industry. More specifically, to share my passion and knowledge of my country, with people from all over the world. Ever since I was a child, I remember myself walking around the streets of my birthplace, Athens. While I was growing up, I started learning little by little, about my country's amazing history. It was at that time, as a child, that I realized the glory of Ancient Greek Civilization. I realized the global importance of Ancient Greek Characters, and I also realized the magnitude of the cultural and scientific wealth that Ancient Greece spread all around the world. My Studies are in the field of Healthcare and Management. I have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare and Social Units Administration from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. I also have a Master's degree in Health Management from the University of Piraeus. Furthermore, I have a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan. My writing and speaking skills in English are excellent. Other than my professional occupation, I am a guitarist at a professional level and a Marathon runner. Being a Private Tour Driver Guide is more than a job for me. It is a great opportunity, to introduce my country's history and culture, through its sites and monuments. It's not just a job for me, it is a way to meet people from all over the world and share my passion with them. I love my country and I really love my city. I practically know Athens like the palm of my hand. I know many amazing things that a traveller would love to experience in Athens, that regular sightseeing cannot offer. There are many ways by which a city can surprise you, but it is sometimes very difficult for a traveller to find them on their own. A local person, however, like me, can provide the full experience! Ever since I started following this profession, and until this very day, I can only feel blessed by the travellers' feedback. During this amazing half day tour you will see all the most popular sights and experience the best parts of the city with a local driver guide with a brand New Mercedes Vito Tourer Minivan. We'll see all of the things you would see on an ordinary tour - they're certainly worthwhile. But I will also show you the special things that make Athens great. In our tour we will visit he ACROPOLIS hill and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the PROPYLAEA, the TEMPLE of ATHENA NIKE, the ERECHTHEION and finally, "the harmony between matter and spirit", the PARTHENON and then the New Acropolis Museum. Afterwards, we will drive to the PANATHENAIC STADIUM , the Temple of OLYMPIAN ZEUS and HADRIAN'S ARCH. Driving down Herod Atticus Str. , you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the ex. Kings Palace etc.

Unforgettable! We had a fantastic day with Markos. It was such an amazing experience to have a tour with a native Athenian :) He was so knowledgeable, kind, patient, and engaging. We enjoyed learning all about Athens' history and notable landmarks from the comfort of Markos' clean, air conditioned vehicle and then having ample time to explore each location he taught us about...especially the incredible Acropolis Hill!!! Markos then took us to an wonderful, local Greek restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious meal. It was such a fun, memorable day. 10/10! Thank you SO, SO much Markos!!!
Markos was phenomenal! We have a wonderful time and learned a ton. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He also made sure we made the most of our day and got to do and see everything that we wanted!
Markos was exceptional he arrived 15 minutes early for our tour and the vehicle was spotless. Spent the whole day with him and covered more ground than anyone on our cruise who booked onshore excursions through the ship. The bonus was. It only learning about the history of Athens but a lot about the Greek culture including his family life it was all very heartwarming and he has lived here his whole life so his insights were very informative. The tour with Markos was excellent! He picked us up promptly and his advice of getting to the Acropolis Hill early to beat the crowd was spot on. Even though he could not walk us through the site, his use of his iPad to show us what we were going to see atop the hill before we exited the car was instrumental in our enjoyment. He gave us a number of informational tidbits that we looked for while on the site and it enhanced the visit. He handed all the other stops perfectly as well. He told us what we were going to see, where to go see them and then he stayed with the car as we followed his direction at our own pace. Then, he was waiting for us back at the car. At our request, he took us to a taverna for locals (off the beaten tourist path) and we had an authentic lunch in Athens at a very comfortable establishment. On our way back to the hotel, at my wife's request, he took us by a local spot so she could buy some Greek olive oil. if we ever go back, and need a guide, we would look Markos up again.
