Hello Travellers! My name is Silvia - Silviaki for my Greek friends - and I am a historian and licensed tour guide living in Athens. Both modern and ancient Greece have built on stories, and my own starts in Italy. Born and raised in a very little town near Milan, drawn by my passion for Ancient History and Archaeology, I enrolled nine years ago as a PhD student in Athens University, a choice I have never regretted. Communicating and sharing with people is something I see as fundamental to life as breathing. Tours let me combine my passions for the Ancient World and architecture with the joy of meeting, talking and laughing with people through genuine connections. In my free time, my little car and I go to explore archaeological sites, museums, Greece's incredible and varied nature, always trying to find my new favorite Greek dish! The country has so much to offer me and everyone that, no matter how much of it I see, I know that it is only the surface. My favorite tours are those based on history, archaeology and art, and I very much enjoy finding connections between the Ancient World and the modern. I try to contrast the more academic side of my tours with the fun, frivolous and unexpected. There is beauty to be discovered behind an ancient building, be it a modern artwork or an incredibly tasty baklava! The majority of my tours are Athens-based but I can help you escape from the city for one or more days, offering tours full of history, culture and nature throughout Greece based on your needs and interests. Looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to my second and now first home! Silvia B. Licensed Tour Guide (Greek Ministry of Tourism) PhD in Ancient History (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) Master Degree in Roman History (Università di Roma Tor Vergata) Bachelor Degree in Human Science (Università degli studi di Pavia) I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Can a foreigner stay in Athens without visiting the heart of the city? Of course not! :) So, let's go together to discover the Acropolis, the sacred citadel of ancient Athens, together with the Acropolis Museum - a true gem of the city! -, the magnificent Temple of Zeus, and the Panathenaic Stadium, where the ancient Athenians practiced and displayed one of the fundamental forms of their education: sport! In this 4-5 hour tour, we'll delve into history, discussing the time when Pericles decided to rebuild the sacred temples of the Acropolis to make the city shine again. As a Doctor in Ancient History at the University of Athens, I'm thrilled to share my knowledge and passion for history, archaeology, and, of course, mythology with you! And trust me, after this tour, you'll never look at Athens the same way again! If you're arriving by ship, I can arrange for a driver to pick you up and take you back to your ship at the end of the tour. Contact me for pricing and availability.

Silvia started our vacation off with a well rounded look at Athens. I was a little nervous due to the amount of time used in responded to communication on the website, but everything was great the day of the tour. She speaks English really well, was able to engage with our entire party which included two teens and a 12 year old, and made sure that we all had an understanding of the sites and artefacts we were viewing. She asked our opinion of things that were important to us for viewing and no matter what we selected, she had a tremendous amount of knowledge surrounding it! Would highly recommend!
We had a great day walking the Acropolis and Museum with Silvia. My family (3 kids aged 16, 14 & 11) had a great day learning about the history of the area, how impactful the British were, and of the Greek Gods. The kids were engaged throughout the tour and Silvia kept them on their best as she told the stories in a way that we could all understand. I have been to Athens before and regret not using her in the past. I, too, learned a lot about the history and the area that I never would have known without spending the day with Silvia.
Silvia B was the most amazing guide. Her knowledge about Greek history and the Acropolis made our tour so very special. Her English was outstanding and her detail explaination about Greek history and the importnace of the Acropolis in Greek history was so interesting. The tour was over 4hrs and every minute was so very informative because of Silvia's clear and thoughtful explanations. We travel a lot and Silvia was the most interactive, interesting and knowleagable of all our guides. She made the Greek history come alive. If you want to experience Athens..the Acropolis ...Silvia has to be your guide.
