Overview of your Athens tour
Take the opportunity to visit the most important monuments of the oldest capital city in Europe! We will climb up the Acropolis hill to see the famous Parthenon, temple for Goddess Athens who was protected the city. The temple of Poseidon, the God of the Ocean and of course the monumental gateway of the Acropolis fortress. We will of course not miss the temple of the king of Gods, Zeus, and the historical 1896 Olympic stadium. Must see for all visitor of course is the changing of the guard at the old Palace and the central square of Athens. We will drive through the city to take pictures of the beautiful neoclasic buildings and up to the highest hill of Athens, Lycabrttus hill, where you will enjoy an unforgettable view. Lastly the pride of the city, the New Acropolis Museum, where you will see closer the sculptures of the Parthenon. And of course Greece has to offer you a delicious cousine so we can drop you off at the best place for an authentic lunch.

Eleni gave our group of six a wonderful tour of Athens. We were picked up at the cruise port in a comfortable van with our driver George helping us with our bags. We visited the Acropolis first, arriving just as it opened. We made the ascent to the top at a slower pace that accommodated the physical needs of the group. Eleni was very knowledgeable about all the sites and provided historical information in an entertaining way. Our tour also included the Acropolis Museum, Lycabettus Hill and the changing of the guards. This was the first time I used Tours by Locals, and I was extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend Eleni to anyone visiting Athens.

Your Athens tour itinerary
The tour starts from your hotel or your apartment A tour through the most important and beautiful sites of Athens during which we will have a professional driver for the longer distances (it can get quite warm in summer) and we will walk the shot ones. First stop the Acropolis hill for an early visit! We will avoid the long lines and see closer the jewel of the capital of Greece crowned by the temple of Godess Athena, the Parthenon, since the 5thc BC. After that we will drive in the centre of Athens to see the temple of Zeus, the king of the Greek Gods, Handrians Gate, the beautifully marbled 1896 Olympic Stadium, the Old Palace and the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier and many other histocal neoclasic monuments. Next you will enjoy a guided tour in the New Museum of Acropolis, the pride of the city! Lastly we can drive you back to your hotel or at your cruise terminal or we can drop you off at an authentic Greek restaurant to continue your day enjoying a Greek lunch.
