Hello from beautiful Greece! My name is Markos! I will be more than happy to drive you through my Country's History and Civilization in my Licensed, Smoke-Free, air-conditioned, latest-model Mercedes Minivan or brand-new Mercedes Minibus! About 10 years ago, I decided to follow my passion and get involved in the tourism industry. More specifically, to share my passion and knowledge of my country, with people from all over the world. Ever since I was a child, I remember myself walking around the streets of my birthplace, Athens. While I was growing up, I started learning little by little, about my country's amazing history. It was at that time, as a child, that I realized the glory of Ancient Greek Civilization. I realized the global importance of Ancient Greek Characters, and I also realized the magnitude of the cultural and scientific wealth that Ancient Greece spread all around the world. My Studies are in the field of Healthcare and Management. I have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare and Social Units Administration from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. I also have a Master's degree in Health Management from the University of Piraeus. Furthermore, I have a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan. My writing and speaking skills in English are excellent. Other than my professional occupation, I am a guitarist at a professional level and a Marathon runner. Being a Private Tour Driver Guide is more than a job for me. It is a great opportunity, to introduce my country's history and culture, through its sites and monuments. It's not just a job for me, it is a way to meet people from all over the world and share my passion with them. I love my country and I really love my city. I practically know Athens like the palm of my hand. I know many amazing things that a traveller would love to experience in Athens, that regular sightseeing cannot offer. There are many ways by which a city can surprise you, but it is sometimes very difficult for a traveller to find them on their own. A local person, however, like me, can provide the full experience! Ever since I started following this profession, and until this very day, I can only feel blessed by the travellers' feedback. This tour will give you the opportunity to combine the most popular attractions of Athens with a beautiful road trip to Corinth. This way you will combine two different sides of Greece, the city center and the countryside. This tour can be customized in order to visit different monuments and places. Only with a very experienced driver like me you can make the most out of your time. Being one of the rare original Athenians living in Athens, I know the birthplace of my ancestors like the palm of my hands. I will share with you a lot of information about all the places that we will visit. I use guidebooks, 3d presentations, videos and of course my personal knowledge. In Corinth, there is much to show you and of course I will take you to one of the best Taverna's in Greece for your lunch. A complete experience of Greece in just one day!
Absolutely recommend Markos for any trip to Athens. Markos met us directly outside of the cruise terminal. With unexpected traffic, he suggested alternative options and we ended up seeing so much more than our original plan. I would absolutely use Markos again on a future trip to Athens!
Markos is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable on the history of his country and will give you a lot of info before entering the archeological sites. This way when you are inside the site you can truly enjoy your own pace while still have the info. We had lunch in a very good Taverna where you can see he knew the family owning it so you are truly feeling you make the local economy running. I could only recommend this way of discovering Athens and Corinth especially with children as it really allowed you to see a lot of thing in once while making it fun for our son with possibilities to rest in the car. Markos is very responsive and attentive to your needs, I really enjoyed the fact that I could talk to him before booking as most of the time you book via a company so you will not know your driver upfront.
Our tour with Markos could not have been better. He took us to many spots in Athens tour buses don't go like the Presidential palace with traditional guards in costume. The Zeus temple was also a highlight for us. The biggest highlight of the trip was the ancient village of Corinth and having lunch together in the village. Markos was an excellent tour guide and would like to have him give us future tours.
Markos was wonderful. He made sure we enjoyed every minute of the day. His passion for Greece is evident and he has a wealth of knowledge. Most importantly....he made our comfort a priority. Couldn't have had a better day!
Markos was excellent. Very professional. As concerns this tour though, I feel the whole day should have been spent in Athens. The half day spent going to Corinth on top of the half day previous to Poseidon was too much. Also, 1 hour, 10 minutes at the Acropolis was not enough. 2 hours would be preferable.

We will visit the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis hill, including the Propylaea, Erechtheion, Karyatides statues, the temple of Athena Nike and the Parthenon. We will also visit the remains of the Temple of Zeus, the first stadium of the modern Olympic games, Panathenaic Stadium as it is called We will drive by the central square of Athens, Syntagma square. You will observe the Parliament building with the famous Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the National gardens and the well known Athenian trilogy of culture, the breathtaking lineup of neoclassical architecture, which are the Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Library, and the first University of Athens. During our road trip outside the city, we will admire the impressive Corinth Canal, and we will visit the archaeological site and museum in the village of Ancient Corinth.
