I began this tour as a local keen on showing visitors around, highlighting our landmarks and offering a taste of Greek culture. This private tour efficiently covers Athens and Sounio in a single day. Starting at the Acropolis, you'll see the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheum, and the Parthenon. We then move to the Temple of Zeus via Hadrian's Arch, visiting the Panathenaic Stadium, site of the 1896 Olympics. We'll pass by the changing of the guard, view Athens' architectural trilogy, and drive to Lycabettus Hill for city views. The tour includes a drive along the Athenian Riviera with a stop at Vouliagmeni Lake, ending at Poseidon's Temple in Sounio. Come along for a journey through history and beauty! We had a fantastic tour. Vasilis was fun and very informative. He gave us great info/history on each of the sites we visited, as well as Athens/Greece in general. He took us to a family restaurant on the way to Cape Sounion where we had a fantastic lunch of fresh fish and the family was delightful. We would definitely use Vasilis again and highly recommend him.
Vasilis was the best! He was so great with our kids. I didn't think we could do Athens in a day but he knew exactly where to go and when and how to do it. I honestly came into this with low expectations because it was going to be a one day whirlwind tour but it far exceeded our expectations. We used Vasilis twice as a guide when we were in Athens and we highly recommend him. He was knowledgeable and interesting and we really loved the Temple of Zeus tour at sunset. He customized it for us so that we were able to go to the beach beforehand and see the coast which was a great way to escape the heat of Athens. He was very flexible and all of us really enjoyed the tour including our 3 kids (age 7, 10 and 14). We would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Vasilis picked us up from our cruise ship and drove us around Athens,giving us a chance to visit some beautiful churches and ancient sites.We then enjoyed a drive along the coast to Souni and saw the temple of Poseidon.Vasili was polite and informative .We thoroughly enjoyed our tour
Phenomenal tour! Vasilis was a great tour guide and explained so much throughout the entire day. Had door to door service and with the early start time, we got to see the Acropolis before it got overly crowded from the tour buses. Had a great lunch at a traditional Greek spot with some amazing food. Would HIGHLY recommend Vasilis.
Vasilis put together a tour for us that met all our needs. Hit the highlights of Athens with the Acropolis early in the day to beat the heat and then saw the changing of the guard and a few other highlights in Athens. Then off to Corinth to see the Corinth canal and Ancient Corinth. With only the one day in port to try to see as much as we can he did a great job of explaining things and getting us where we wanted to go and back to port in plenty of time. Fabulous day and highly recommend Vasilis.
During this tour we will visit: •Acropolis Hill You will see the Temple of the Athena Nike, the monumental gateway, Erechtheum & Parthenon. •Temple of Zeus - Arch of Hadrian The biggest temple in antiquity, devoted to the King of the Gods. •Old Olympic Stadium Where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. •Parliament - Changing of the Guards We will see the changing of the guards in front of the old palace, located in the Old Royal Palace. •Academy-University-National Library One of the most historical streets of Athens with neoclassical buildings. •Lycabettus Hill We will drive up the highest hill of Athens with the best panoramic city view •Athenian Riviera We will pass through the uptown suburbs of Athens (Glyfada, Voula, Varkiza) •Vouliagmeni Lake We will make a stop at a beautiful mineral-therapeutic- natural lake. •Cape Sounion We will visit the archaeological site of Cape Sounio. •Poseidon's Temple We will see the dominating Temple of Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the seas.
