Kalimera & welcome to Thessaloniki! Born and raised in Thessaloniki (with studies abroad), I know every corner of the city and can't wait to welcome you to Thessaloniki and show you my favourite people and places. Whether you are a foodie looking to explore the city's culinary scene, or just someone who loves to eat, joining one of our tours, is the perfect way to experience Thessaloniki's delicious food and drink. Located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Thessaloniki is Greece's vibrant second city, mixing ancient history, rich culture, and modern allure. Nestled along the Aegean Sea, it's a tapestry of Macedonian roots, Byzantine grandeur, Ottoman influence, and contemporary Greek zest. With over 15 years of experience working in the outdoor tourism sector, combined with educational activities. Working both abroad and in Greece resulted in a new start, with the broader goal to promote our heritage and combine it with outdoor activities. Although having a degree in engineering the real passion was always the outdoors and guiding. Since 2006 im living in Greece where I have travelled and worked in numerous spots in the country. All my tours can be customised according to your requests. Thessaloniki, Greece's vibrant second city, seamlessly blends its rich history, rich culture, and modern dynamism. Nestled along the Aegean Sea's picturesque coast, Thessaloniki's labyrinthine streets of Ladadika, the old city centre, are home to Byzantine churches and Ottoman mosques that stand as silent sentinels of its rich past. After we meet, we'll head to an old bakery - a hidden gem that stands for three generations, for the first stop. Sample some typical Greek breakfast pastries such as traditional koulouri (a sesame seed-covered bread ring) & bougatsa (phyllo pastry filled with cream or cheese). You will hear interesting stories during the coffee break and then head to the open market of the town. Through little streets and alleys full of history, you'll arrive at the "Kapani" (open from Monday to Saturday) a vibrant, colourful and historic place. Once you finish strolling the market, you will taste some original street food, and a variety of meze dishes.
- Starting point: at the harbour of Thessaloniki (or we can meet at your hotel upon request) - Walk around Ladadika district - Stop at a nice bakery - Stop at breakfast place for bougatsa - Coffee break near Bezesteni area - Visit Kapani and Modiano markets - Pass from Athonos square - Lunch at the market area - the tour ends here.
