Explore Delphi your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Delphi tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Delphi for every interest, including:

History tours: Trace the Sacred Way on a private tour to the Temple of Apollo, step into the theatre and stadium, and hear the stories behind the Treasury of the Athenians before viewing the Charioteer of Delphi in the Archaeological Museum. You can also visit the Tholos at Athena Pronaia and fill your bottle at the Castalian Spring while you learn how pilgrims prepared for the oracle.

Day trip tours: Build a custom day that pairs the ruins with Arachova for a look at traditional loom workshops and warm slices of grilled formaela, or continue to the UNESCO-listed Monastery of Hosios Loukas to admire its mosaics. Your guide can also plan tours to Galaxidi for a harbour stroll and seafood lunch, or a hike to the Corycian Cave on Mount Parnassos.

Food and Drink tours: Meet producers in the Amfissa olive groves for olive oil and table-olive tastings, then sit down at a taverna for grilled formaela, lamb kleftiko, and seasonal horta with a glass of local wine or tsipouro. Prefer to cook? Join a hands-on class to make spanakopita and loukoumades, then shop the weekly market for herbs and sheep’s cheeses.

Delphi is compact and you can walk between the village, museum, and main site, but paths are steep and distances grow once you head to Arachova, Hosios Loukas, or the coast; KTEL buses run fixed routes and taxis are available. For easier logistics, you can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange a vehicle.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Delphi inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Delphi

Base yourself in Delphi, then branch out to nearby villages, sacred sites, and the coast on easy day trips that fit what you like to see and do.

Arachova offers stone lanes, mountain views, and cosy tavernas, so if you like local food, small shops with wool and leather goods, and a slower alpine vibe, you can spend a relaxed few hours and shape your tour around tastings or a scenic walk.

Hosios Loukas Monastery pairs golden mosaics with quiet courtyards set among olive groves, which works well if you enjoy Byzantine art, calm spaces, and countryside views, and your tour can focus on history without rushing.

Galaxidi brings you to a small harbour town with seafront strolls and fresh seafood, a good choice if you prefer low-key maritime history, waterfront cafés, and photo stops along the Gulf of Corinth.

Mount Parnassus and the Corycian Cave add fir forest trails and a myth-rich cavern above Delphi, so hikers and mythology fans can combine a moderate walk with stories linked to Pan, tailoring your tour to the pace you want.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Delphi most travellers miss.
