Great tour with Elias. He was so personable and entertaining for our 11 and 9 year old kids. He made the ruins come to life for us all. It was a hot day and he still kept their attention. Highly recommend this guide.

I was born and raised in Athens and Mesologi, a small town in the west of Greece - a scenic but rather tired fishermen town that carries a heavy historic load. There, one day in high school, a new history teacher came in and in her opening statement she used a phrase that would haunt me forever : "He, who doesn't know the how and why of the last 3000 years, lives in the darkness of ignorance, from one day to the next. ", by Goethe. I instantly became a history buff, but soon I was lured by the sirens of Political and Economic Sciences. Then, my academic Odyssey passed the turbulent waters of the Greek economic crisis that swept me over to the island and University of Crete, where I finished my MSc in Economic Theory and Policy. While studying, I started working as a tour leader for groups of travelers and my passion for history was finally put to practice. By the time I was writing my thesis, on the "Rhetoric of economics and its performative aspects", I already knew that I needed a break from academia, towards more experiential knowledge. After travelling around for some years, I realized the value of a good tour guide and made it my goal to become one. I enrolled in the National School of Licenced Guides, and since 2015 I have been working with English and French speaking guests from around the world. When not working or travelling, I read, practice aerial acrobatics, gymnastics and yoga, play with my cat, search for that perfect wine and try to balance between a Stoic attitude and an Epicurean lifestyle. Athens is a city where the ancient and the modern flirt and intertwine in a unique way. Few places in the world compare to the most ancient capital of Europe, a place that has been invaded, ravaged and looted but never abandoned within the last 6.000 years. Broken marble temples on top the sacred rock, evidence of a golden era and a harsh follow-up, still stand proud not just thanks to their staunch structure; it's the myths and stories wedged between those elegant columns that made the Acropolis a timeless symbol of an entire civilisation. Join me in a slow paced and fun tour of the crown of Athens. Architecture, mythology, politics, philosophy, arts and spectacles, everything that Greece came to be known for throughout the centuries will make your visit of the Acropolis not another walk between ruins!

Elias is a fantastic tour guide. He is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable right from the beginning. Elias’ knowledge is what makes the tour come alive. He weaves history, myth and its relevance to modern times. If you ever wondered why the Acropolis is so famous you’ll now understand far beyond looking at the physical structure. An added bonus is how adroit he is at keeping you out of the hoards. We’ve taken plenty of small group tours and this one is absolutely worth it.
Elias is super passionate and gave us a great experience of the Acropolis and museum.
Elias was a fantastic guide for our family, including 2 kids ages 13 and 15. He brought the Acropolis to life with his entertaining and informative style, and we came away knowing so much more, not only about the site, but about Greek life throughout the ages. The kids were kept engaged and greatly enjoyed it too. Communication beforehand was excellent. I’d highly recommend Elias!
I am a huge TBL fan. They must have exceptional criteria for their guides because they are not only so knowledgeable, they are also so passionate about the stories they are sharing. Elias was no exception. He taught us so much about Athens Acropolis’ history. It was the middle of a scorcher day and we weren’t sure how we were going to manage this mid day heat but he carefully chose shaded areas to share his stories as we walked around. He was brilliant. Highly recommend.
Our tour with Elias was great and he truly is an excellent guide. Our family of 7 has kids spread our from ages 19 to 8, and Elias had them all listening with rapt attention the entire time. He gives all the context needed to understand everything, and does so in a very engaging way. In fact, before the tour one of my sons told me that he hated tour guides and was just going to walk around on his own. I asked him to give Elias 5 minutes, to which he agreed. My son ended up following him for the whole 2 hours and afterwards said it was totally worth it!
