Hi, I'm Haruka, but please call me Hal. I'm a nationally licensed tour guide with a deep passion for art, architecture, fashion, and Japanese culinary culture. I am also a certified International Sake Sommelier. I curate and lead art and architecture tours in Tokyo, as well as food market tours. As a fashion enthusiast, I also introduce guests to Tokyo’s fascinating fashion scene. The way we dress, eat, and live shapes our culture and civilization. Through fashion (what we wear), food and sake (what we eat and drink), and art and architecture (where we live), I hope my guests can explore Japanese history, culture, and mindset in an engaging way. I spent about ten years of my childhood in England and Germany, where I attended an American school. Because of this international background, I have a strong understanding of Western culture in both Europe and the United States. I enjoy bridging cultures through stories, design, and local flavors, helping travelers understand Japan more deeply while experiencing Tokyo like a local. As a mother myself, families with children are always welcome!

Looking for authentic crafts and everyday items that Japanese locals truly use and love? Let’s explore Ningyocho together! Ningyocho once thrived as a lively theater district in the Edo period, the samurai-government ages, where shops supplied everything performers and theater people needed—kimono, tenugui towels, cosmetics, garment brushes, folding fans, and more. As audiences gathered, the area also grew into a hub of great restaurants, and many shops offering high-quality green tea, kitchen knives, and cookware to support them were found throughout the area. Thankfully, some of these historic stores and traditional artisans still remain today, and new shops that respect and carry on this heritage are also opening. These crafts and daily goods are not just for display, they are still used, appreciated, and sold at reasonable prices by locals. Join a friendly walking tour to discover what people in Tokyo genuinely cherish. Come and experience the living traditions of Tokyo!
