Tokyo Half-day Highlight Private Tour by a chartered van

Our second tour in Tokyo with Makiko was fabulous. She customised our half day program to suite our interests. As a Japanese local she has a deep knowledge of Japanese traditions and customs. Her English language is perfect and she has a very personal approach. We were on a short transit through Tokyo staying at Haneda Airport and Makiko arranged her driver to pick us up and return us. We can’t recommend Makiko highly enough and her previous reviews were the reason we chose her amongst the other guides. Don’t hesitate to use her.

Makiko is a fantastic, knowledgeable and personable guide who helped us with a half day tour of Tokyo around our interests. As we were staying at Haneda Airport she helped us with transfers to & from the city, relieving us of that burden. We have another tour booked in a month when we transit back through Tokyo. Makiko N. was an amazing tour guide. She was in touch with us 6 months before our tour, helped us decide what to see, and guided us through the planning process. We made adjustments to see the places we wanted to visit. She provided honest, meaningful feedback on what to prioritize. On the day(s) of the tour, we met at our hotel in Tokyo and had a dedicated driver who helped us get around with ease. Makiko's perfect planning and having a driver allowed us to be efficient and therefore see more sites. Having a private driver was especially nice in the rain or the heat, and let us keep personal belongings in the car, so we did not need to carry bags all day. We also had a great lunch together that catered to gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan diets. After spending two days with Makiko, we really felt like we knew her for a long time. We had important conversations about the history of the places we visited in Tokyo (including the ramifications of WWII) and more light-hearted conversations about plants and Japanese culture. Makiko took us to a wide variety of sites, including gardens such as Hama-rikyu Gardens, shopping areas such as Taito-Yanaka (Yanesen) and Tsukiji Market, landmarks such as Tokyo Skytree, The Imperial Palace, and Asakusa, and temples and shrines such as Senso-ji Temple, Nezu Shrine, and Meiji Jingu Shrine. We saw so many things. Makiko also took some great family pictures that we will cherish forever. Makiko was informative and kept us punctual and on target (we saw a lot in 1.5 days), and did so at our pace. She was great with teenagers and adults. Book a tour with Makiko!

Our group of four had a lovely excursion with Makiko. Not only was she extremely informative but also very pleasant and caring. She went above and beyond her responsibilities as a guide making numerous phone calls in planning our tour. She had an excellent command of the English language and we enjoyed just talking to her. Highly recommend booking your next tour with Makiko! This was our first trip to Japan and our first day in Tokyo. Makiko did an amazing job setting up the tour, walking us around, showing us beautiful Tokyo. My mother had ended up hurting her ankle before we arrived. Makiko was very mindful of this and maybe changes as needed. When my mom asked to find a shop that sold unique local art, Makiko delivered and took us to the most amazing store. Communication before the trip was very thorough. She helped direct me what neighborhood to book a hotel in. Before she left us at the end of the tour, she gave us some pointers of what we could do on our free day and told us to contact her if we had any questions, which I thought was very kind.

Our second day was just as good as the last! Makiko, took the time to explain everything. It was her pleasure for us to see Japan through her eyes. I would highly recommend her to all my friends who are going to Japan.
