Secret Tokyo Private Tour

Spending the day with Setsuko was like exploring Tokyo with a dear friend. She is warm, knowledgeable, and a natural conversationalist. She tailored the day to my interests, balancing some of Tokyo’s major landmarks and neighborhoods with visits to local shops and tucked-away spots that gave me a glimpse into everyday life in the city. What I’ll remember most, though, is learning about Japan’s beautiful culture and traditions through Setsuko’s eyes. She shared a wealth of knowledge throughout the day, while also being genuinely curious and interested in our conversations. Thank you Setsuko!

This was our first time in Japan. We found Setsuko from her listing here and hired her for our first two days. We have already recommended her to friends that will be traveling to Japan, next. She took excellent care of us and gave us peace of mind, helping us make the most of our limited time including advising with our itinerary. Our trip went extremely smoothly because of her help. After our arrival, there were weather concerns which required some flexibility. This was managed quickly and with great options based on our interests. We hired Setsuko on the recommendation of a friend, and I’m glad we did. My wife and I were with Setsuko for two days. She was a pleasant and knowledgeable companion. Her English is good and we enjoyed her explanations and observations. We had requested tours of out of the way, non-touristy areas, and she easily found them. Per our request, we visited several exquisite gardens and the surrounding neighborhoods. She arranged for a tea ceremony for us that was the highlight of our first day. Because Tokyo is so big and extensive, we spent a lot of time in subway stations and on trains. This was a great opportunity for people watching and culture observation, but limited the number of things we could see and do.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Setsuko was terrific. We wanted less touristy sites and she certainly delivered showing our small group some great spots in the city. Very knowledgeable, organized and flexible to ensure that we came away with a great experience. Would definitely recommend her if you’re a novice to Tokyo like we were.
