Tokyo is very diverse. It has many fascinating places to see and things to do. I love doing this tour because Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world. At the same time, it has many intimate nooks and crannies. I've spent many years exploring it all. I know from my own trips abroad that local knowledge makes all the difference to a traveler's experience of a big city. It's this local knowledge I want to share with you. For example, I want to share Tokyo's food scene, fashion scene, old and new art galleries and museums, street life, historical places (including the royal palace), gardens, and also traditional sites that even most Tokyo people don't know. I've lived both overseas and in Tokyo and understand the cultural differences very well. By showing you my capital I'd also like to explain what's special about Japan. A customized tour can be designed, with your time and interests in mind, for 1 or 2 or 3 days. There's such an exciting range of activities it's hard to know where to begin.
For example: • 10:00 am Meet and greet at your hotel, then go to • 10:30 am Tsukiji or Toyosu (the fish market has moved but there are many fascinating places to see, both old and new) • 11:30 am Asakusa (Tokyo's oldest temple - Sensoji - and lunch after the visit • 1:30 pm The Imperial Palace (this includes the Edo-era East Garden where the Shogun once lived) • 2. 30 pm Nihonbashi (an Edo-period part of Toky where there are still many historic sites) • 3:30 pm Yanaka (another old part of Tokyo, that has survived many disasters) • 4:00 pm Return to your hotel and farewell Alternatives include: . Visiting a sumo stable to watch the practice . Nihonbashi: an Edo-period part of Tokyo with many historic sites . Omote-sando: the fashion center of Tokyo; it includes trendy Cat Street . Shinjuku: see Tokyo's premier department store (Isetan) and try the little eateries . Shibuya: for its famous "scramble" crossing . Ueno: for its world-class museums . Some traditional Japanese gardens
