We did a private evening food tour in Nakano with Mari. She is a real foodie and she brought us to incredibly delicious, authentic restaurants we never could have found on our own. Mari is fun, knowledgeable, and as a bonus, she's a Disney expert, so we had fun conversations along the way. Highly recommend Mari.
Potentially the best food we ate on the entire trip! We knew we were in for a treat when we arrived in Nakano because there were very few tourists. Mari started us at a beautiful izakaya where the sake was flowing. We were treated to dishes that were very different from the sushi and ramen and udon we'd been consuming for two weeks. Mari was very observant of dietary restrictions, which I'm so thankful for! She was patient with my 10 year old, who was thrilled to "finally" (in her words) have a woman guide in Japan! She had an absolute blast cooking at our own table and loved Mari. Would highly recommend this and we'll be booking with Mari again on our next visit to Tokyo!
Mari is lovely and took us to 2 very different and extremely delicious places, plus a surprise dessert! Sake tasting was top quality. We loved the area to walk around, and afterwards great to just wander also. Very highly recommend!
Mari is a wonderful and friendly guide. Our family of four really enjoyed the very local food tour experience with her. She took us to a small local restaurant in Nakano for seafood and sake then to the most amazing Wagyu experience. The food was superb and Mari made the evening so much fun. I highly recommend spending an evening learning about Tokyo's food culture with Mari. She's the best!
We had a wonderful evening. In just three hours, Mari did an excellent job helping us discover out of the way authentic Japanese diners in Nagano. The food was fabulous and Mari’s background explanations of the different dishes helpful. She is a very knowledgeable guide whose enthusiasm is contagious. I highly recommend Mari and this tour.
What a terrific night in Nakano with Mari. She is a delightful young lady and we had a blast spending time with her. She took us to two incredible restaurants that we would have never found without her. If you have a free night in Tokyo Mari is the person you should spend it with. Jeff & Marcia
