Explore Hiroshima your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Hiroshima tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Hiroshima for every interest, including:

History tours: Walk through Peace Memorial Park with context on the A-Bomb Dome, the Cenotaph, and the hypocentre marker, then continue to Hiroshima Castle to learn how the city rebuilt and view samurai artefacts. Your guide can also point out plaques and survivor trees you might miss on your own.

Museums tours: Enter the Peace Memorial Museum with timed tickets and a focused route that matches your interests, then add the Hiroshima MOCA or the Prefectural Art Museum for contemporary and classic works. Longer private tours can include the Mazda Museum by advance booking or Kure’s Yamato Museum by train.

Religious Sites tours: Ride the ferry to Miyajima to explore Itsukushima Shrine and time your visit with the tide for photos of the torii gate. Your guide can add Daisho-in on the island and, back in the city, Mitaki-dera or Fudoin for temple halls, pagodas, and quiet gardens.

Hiroshima’s centre is flat and walkable, with streetcars, JR lines, and ferries that make it easy to reach Miyajima and nearby sights. If you prefer door-to-door travel or have a full day to Kure or Sandankyo, you can book a chauffeured tour or request private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Hiroshima inside and out.
