My name is Satoko. I have a very distinct family lineage, with my mother's side dating back to the ancient Samurai. My grandmother was a true master of traditional Japanese practices such as kimono, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and playing the koto. My father's side also ran a successful Japanese restaurant. Growing up in these traditional surroundings has developed a burning passion for all things Japanese; the culture, spirit, food, nature, and aesthetic sense - all of which make me excited! Japan is a country with many unique and mysterious aspects - its culture, customs, and language can even be difficult for the natives to grasp let alone foreigners. My mission is to demystify Japan and educate all those interested by exposing the real side of my country and by sharing knowledge that goes beyond guidebooks, YouTube, or Wikipedia. This was a fantastic tour of Tokyo given by Satoko! She is an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly guide who made the first day in Tokyo a memorable one. She was able to personalize our tour based on my mother's interests and kept the pace appropriate for her as she is handicapped. She also inquired on itineraries from other tour guides so we didn't duplicate visiting sites. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

Satoko was amazing. Very responsive prior to travel, totally open to customizing the tour, and super easy to communicate with when we were in Tokyo. She remembered little facts about everyone, so tried to get my daughter in to the viral pizza place she saw on TikTok, took us to a great lunch place, could tell my kids aren't exactly history buffs (husband too), so never went overboard explaining things. Towards the end she could tell my husband was worried about getting train tickets for the rest of the trip, she took him to the train station, booked our tickets, made sure we all sat together, that we had room for luggage, and could see Mt. Fuji both directions. Great experience and perfect way to get acclimated to a new country. Thank YOU!
