Bacaro Walking Tour with a Local

We could not have been more pleased with Jo-Ann as an our guide. We hired her for a private 2-hour food tour and she exceeded our expectations. The food and the drinks were plentiful and delicious. What more could you ask for? Jo-Ann has a delightful passion for food that is matched by her knowledge of Venice. Adding to that was her warm personality which made our brief time with her a fond memory. One of our friends was on crutches and Jo-Ann was able to modify the trip to make it work. I really enjoyed this tour. Jo-Ann is a superb tour guide. In fact, I also booked additional tours with her, since I enjoyed this one so much. We went to three different bacaro restaurants, all very charming and with great views. The menu wasn't set, so even though Jo-Ann gave recommendations, I was able to order what I wanted. It doesn't really matter whether you do this tour at the beginning or end of your trip-it will still be a lovely and enjoyable experience. Jo-Ann is very knowledgeable and easy to be with, so I highly recommend her as a guide.

I don't even know where to start. It was so awesome, personal and uplifting. Spending your day with a Venice local and an American as ourselves, adds so much to your usual tour experience. It feels like you meet an old friend or a family member. Jo-Ann takes you to hidden gems of Venice, yet showing you all the main highlights with love, deep knowledge and passion. We had two tours combined together and the entire excursion was a well crafted, very professional and masterfully put together adventure. We are all extremely delighted and satisfied. We thoroughly enjoyed our Bacaro Walking Tour with Jo-Ann in Castello. She took us to authentic, traditional Bacari while providing an excellent narrative about the neighborhood and its history. The owner of our AirBnB was impressed by the places Jo-Ann took us to, and he considered them "real Venetian" spots.
