Ciao! My name is Giuseppina, I was born in Venice and I have lived here almost all my life, in a house a few steps from Piazza San Marco, next to the opera house. Since I was little I have always been surrounded by culture and art; my father took me to see an opera when I was 5 years old, I studied ballet for many years and I fell in love with beauty since childhood. Working as a guide in my city is the best thing that could happen to me: Venice is unique in every sense: for its history, for its geographical conformity, for its position, and I love explaining to my guests why it is so particular; I do it during walks between a coffee and an ice cream, I love showing museums and sites of interest without lecturing, but with the hope that those who listen to me will fall in love with the place they are visiting as it happened to me. Plus, Venice is a city that is still alive, and I like to show aspects of daily life: my satisfaction is that my guests feel like Venetians during their stay. I can customize my tours according to your needs. If you want to have an introduction to Venice, then enjoy the fascinating art of glass making in Murano, this is the tour for you! St. Mark Square is the base for every Venetian tour: it's the heart of the city with all its symbols: the winged lion, the Doge's Palace skyline, the bridge of sighs, the clock, and the bell tower. A must-see is the wonderful Basilica of St. Mark the Evangelist, one of the most remarkable examples of Byzantine influence in Italy: the exterior with its marble columns and the interior with its incredible mosaics are a unique mix of art and cultures, impossible to miss. And then, after having understood why this place is so magical and full of history (more than you can imagine!), let's jump on a boat and go with a private water taxi to the island where the art of glass blowing became a myth: Murano. We'll visit a traditional glass factory admiring the incredible skills of the masters and enjoying their gallery of art. The tour ends back in St. Mark Square.
* The tour starts at your hotel. * We reach St. Mark Square and we'll understand why it was called the "Most Serene Republic of Venice" and why it has such a particular shape and architecture. * We'll visit the Basilica of St. Mark with a pre-booked skip-the-line ticket, admiring with no rush the cycle of mosaics and the incredible Pala d'oro behind the altar of the Saint. * Once done with the square, we board a water taxi heading to the island of Murano after a 15-minute ride. In Murano we'll have a customized tour of glass-blowing art with a local master; then, you'll be able to browse the gallery and - if you want - order a piece. * The tour ends back in Venice, in St. Mark Square.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We have a 15 minutes boat ride; the rest of the tour is light walk.
