Ciao , my name is Elisabetta ! ABOUT ME: I'm a born and bred (. . . and super proud !!!) venetian with a cosmopolitan soul and attitude . I grew up between Venice & Cortina D'Ampezzo (Dolomites), I always imagine myself with my feet in the lagoon and my head on the mountains and my heart shared between the 2 !!! Art and history nerd, basketball-addicted, nature ,humans and dogs lover and a "positivity engager". MY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND : I have a bachelor's degree in translation ( English, German and French ). During my university's years, I had unforgettable experiences abroad, which opened my mind and let me discover different cultures and ways of living. Places like New York City, Mainz, Strasbourg, Innsbruck, and Greece blew my mind. A piece of my heart is still in New York where I spent a wonderful time improving my English and playing basketball in every playground in the city. After a while, though I started to feel homesick, my beautiful, unique Venice was calling me back and so I moved back home. WORKING EXPERIENCES : Too many and too various to be listed here! ;) In short when I thought it was time for me to settle down I started working as a freelance translator. I did like it but, spending most of my time facing a Pc I knew I was missing something that I deeply needed: human interaction. Therefore I decided to approach tourism ( more than 15 years ago now!) trying to turn two of my greatest passions into a job: my endless love for Venice and my need of human interaction & my love for the Dolomites! Now I'm perfectly content with what I do and who chooses me as a guide can feel it! My tours show my passion for my hometown Venice and my second home Cortina d' Ampezzo & the Dolomites. MY MISSION : My mission is to offer you unique experiences in Venice & the Dolomites (Cortina d'Ampezzo & Cadore area)not simple tours. . . hopefully memories for a lifetime! MY DOLOMITES (Cortina d' Ampezzo & Cadore) Thanks to my uncle I started hiking when I was a little girl learning how to explore and live the Dolomites in a respectful way and years later I decided to turn my passion into a profession studying to become a licensed nature & Hiking Guide and here I'm fully licensed and with a long hicking experience ! If you love to hike or simply you want to have a sightseeing tour on the Dolomites I will be happy to share my second home with you ! This tour will take you to Murano island by 'vaporetto' the local waterbuses. Once in Murano, we will start with a nice walk to discover this beautiful island and its history and to know how and when Murano became the island of glass. Then we will have an exclusive visit to one of the most important historical glass-factories of the island where we will admire the glass-masters at work . I love this glass atelier , is much more than a glass-factory , here you can breathe passion and art , it is really a "wow" place. The secrets and techniques of this unique and ancient art will slowly disclose while a piece of glass will be turned into a masterpiece under your eyes. A kind of wonder mixing tradition and modern innovation. After the demonstration, we will have time to visit the glass-factory exposition and showrooms where to admire their artistic production . At the end of our visit, we will catch a water-bus back to Venice!
Elisabetta did a terrific job of getting us into one of a renowned Moreno Glass maker. She then setup the rest of our day with advice about going to Burano for lunch at a local restaurant where we met the owner. It was an amazing day!
This was the first to two awards we book with this guide. It was a pleasure to discover Venice and Murano. The Murano tour was special for the extended to a beautiful glass factory with a variety of styles of glass that were very creative. Elisabetta was a great guide for us. She was well-informed, easy to talk with and flexible with our changing needs. I highly recommend this tour and this tour guide.
We had a wonderful morning touring Murano with Elisabetta! She was extremely knowledgeable about Venice and Murano glass. The atelier we visited was breathtaking, surpassing all our expectations! We also toured many other shops in Murano and she was kind enough to send us great recommendations about Venice and Cortina as well. Would highly recommend her!
What an incredible experience! The depth of this tour is so involved and surpassed my expectations. Watching a piece of glass art being created was such a delight. We even had the opportunity to blow our own glass. The tour of the galleries and all of the collections of glass art was phenomenal. Also, Elisabetta was such lovely tour guide with a bright smile and personality. She was very informative and made our time together go by so quickly.
We really enjoyed out tour to Murano with Elisabetta. It was fun to go on the public water buses. The tour of the glass factory was amazing. The skill and speed in which they make an item is incredible. The tour through the showroom showed the imagination of the glass blowers. Elisabetta is a wonderful guide.
We had a wonderful tour of Murano with Elisabetta. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took us to an incredible glass making factory and we not only saw beautiful works of glass art, but also saw two employees actually making a pitcher.
-We will meet at Fondamente Nuove at the water-buses Pier line # 4.1/4.2 -We will then board a vaporetto to reach in few minutes Murano island where we will start browsing around. -It stands out immediately everything on this island speaks about the glass. The windows of small local shops and laboratories of the local glass-artists are full of beautiful pieces of colored glass, a joy for the eyes! -Exploring the island we will walk in front of beautiful churches, palaces, glass-sculptures and many glass-factories and learn when and why Murano became the island of glass. -We will also learn that Murano is an island where people live, about 5000 people and what means living there. -We will then reach our glass-factory where finally have a private visit with a wonderful glass-making demonstration to learn all about this particular art. -At the end you will have time to visit the exposition, to shop around or to stop for a coffee/ice-cream before catching the water-bus back to Venice.
