Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to Venice and my ToursByLocals page! I was born in Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for 40 years. I moved to Venice to attend college and settled down. After graduation in Anglo American literature I worked for the International Movie Festival, at the bookstore of Venice Civic Museums and for a while I devoted myself to teaching. In 1998 I approached tourism and got specialized in cruise excursions. A few years later I became a professional guide and decided to customize tours for private clients. I love food and cooking and that's why when touring I always talk about local specialties and culinary traditions. After many years I still get excited about my adoptive city. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and get dazzled by Venice beauty! Certified professional guide: Italian National Register of Tourist Guides # 08000034 Tour manager license # 591 (Veneto Region) Port Security Pass # 25231 (Venice Port Authority) Education: University Degree in Anglo-American Literature All my tours can be customized: do not hesitate to contact me! Licensed guides have no restrictions. For tours run on the mainland, I apply to professional drivers.

This tour wants to supply a 360° panorama of Venice and is customized for those visitors who want to condense the must see in one day and be left with some free time. This tour is perfect to collect all the necessary infos about art, history, customs, crafts and food. You'll get a complete understanding of Venice since I'll walk you to Rialto bridge and St Mark's Square and I'll take you for a memorable ride by water taxi to Murano, where you'll be introduced to the art of glass blowing. The schedule on this tour is flexible and it is possible to spend longer by boat (extra cost) and reach Burano island, the fishing village famous for lace and colorful houses. Or add a visit to a museum.
-We start our day together with a couple of hours' walk through the city centre to see the highlights but also to discover less crowded areas and more intimate corners. -After a stop in a coffee shop for a good capuccino we head to St Mark's square to see the Golden Basilica, the Doge's Palace and St Mark's tower. - For lunch we can stop at a pizzeria or a typical tavern to enjoy some local food. -We'll then board a private watertaxi and cruise the Grand Canal to get a water view of the city - On Murano we have a glass blowing demo at an exclusive family-run studio. -According to the pickup time/place the program might follow a different order. ATT: If you want to include a museum, like St Mark's church, I will tell you how to proceed with the tickets. Tickets to St Mark's church have limited availability *On Sundays St Mark's church is open from 2 to 4, 30 pm.
