Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to Venice and my ToursByLocals page! I was born in Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for 40 years. I moved to Venice to attend college and settled down. After graduation in Anglo American literature I worked for the International Movie Festival, at the bookstore of Venice Civic Museums and for a while I devoted myself to teaching. In 1998 I approached tourism and got specialized in cruise excursions. A few years later I became a professional guide and decided to customize tours for private clients. I love food and cooking and that's why when touring I always talk about local specialties and culinary traditions. After many years I still get excited about my adoptive city. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and get dazzled by Venice beauty! Isabella was a great guide. She did exactly what I would have hoped she would do for us. She gave us a basic walking tour of the area around our hotel. She showed us the highlights of the city but also gave us a lot of practical advice. She explained how the roads worked and what was in every direction from away from our hotel. She also spent time to make sure we knew where a grocery store was a gave us some nice recommendations for restaurants and gelato. None of us were at our best after the long flights and very long day, but she really did the best to keep everyone engaged.

Isabella met us at our hotel and provided a terrific introduction to Venice. She led us through lots of small “off the beaten track” streets, pointing out architectural details as well as modern construction challenges and solutions. While we spent much time strolling small streets, she was careful to make clear how we would navigate among the different major points (including our hotel). Isabella offered great insight into Venice’s past and present, and pointed out good spots for apertivo and shopping. Grazie Isabella!

But we'll go also off the beaten paths to discover some charming hidden courts. -Since this tour is customizable we might focus on other areas such as Cannaregio or Dorsoduro districts. -Venice is not a big town and almost everything is at walking distance. -During this tour I'll be pleased to give infos/suggestions about museums, exhibitions, concerts, where to eat, how to move around and what to avoid!
