Ciao I'm Francesca, welcome to my Toursbylocals Venice page. I was born in Sicily a beautiful island in Southern Italy where I lived for 20 years. I moved later on to Florence to attend university there where I graduated in Byzantine Archaeology. I completed my studies in Siena where I've got a master in Preservation of Cultural Heritage. In 2008 I moved to Venice where I fell in love with this unique city and I decided then to stay for ever! I became a tourist guide because I like people and impress them. I love to show my city and let visitors discover its many wonders. My tours are not just meant to provide knowledge on the art, history and architecture of Venice but they are a fun experience too. I'm not a teacher delivering a boring lecture but a friend ready to fulfil your curiosity. Don't worry, weird questions are allowed too! Discover the story of this incredible city through its most famous highlights! We'll visit the interior the Saint Mark's square monuments, where we could admire the medieval Basilica, a perfect mix of eastern and western art, and the Doge's Palace, the best place to understand how the longest lived Republic of the world worked. This is the place where one can really feel the power and the opulence of this millenary society: from fishermen on mud to owners of Mediterranean Sea. Such extraordinary! We'll finish in the lively Rialto Market, the Rialto Bridge, the Marco Polo's house, Cannaregio and Castello districts with fantastic churches
Francesca is WONDERFUL and amazingly knowledgeable!
Francesca provided an incredible tour of Venice for four of us in November 2025. We are from the U.S. and Francesca spoke great English, she was very informative, clearly very excited about the city and all of its treasures, answered all of our questions, walked at a pace that accommodated one of my friends with a hip issue (but still got us to see all the important parts of Venice), and she even met us in the hotel of our lobby (we were relatively close to St. Mark's Square). I would highly recommend Francesca for any tour. We had a great time!
Francesca was easy-going, great to talk to and able to fully answer any random question we asked. It was an excellent tour and conversation.
We loved our All About Venice tour with Francesca. She was an increadibly knowledgeable guide, very friendly and engaging. Our family group of 8 (different ages) all enjoyed asking Francesca different questions and learning lots of historical perspective about Venice. We definitely recommend Francesca as your Venice tour guide.
Francesca was an excellent guide and we would highly recommend her
Our guide, Francesca, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and interesting, and shared many little known facts about all the places we visited. She explained the history of Venice and all the fascinating places we went. Her expertise is incredible and her delivery completely engaging. You can't go wrong with Francesca as your guide!!
-Our tour will start in Saint Mark square, the heart of Venice. -After an exiting visit at the interior of the millenary church of Saint Mark admiring the incredible golden mosaics, we'll go to the Doge's Palace, the hearth of the ancient Venetian political life. Marvellous example of medieval art, the palace is a treasure chest of art and history; absolutely the best spot to admire masterpieces of Venetian painting. -We'll see the Armoury, the state's rooms and the dark prisons too! To get to them we'll cross the famous bridge of Sighs, discovering why it has this strange name. -later we'll start to discover the real Venice, crossing charming bridges, walking in dark narrow streets. -we'll cross the Rialto bridge, admiring the fantastic Gran Canal. -We'll finish at the Rialto Market, one of the oldest of the world.
