Ciao I'm Francesca, welcome to my Toursbylocals Venice page. I was born in Sicily a beautiful island in Southern Italy where I lived for 20 years. I moved later on to Florence to attend university there where I graduated in Byzantine Archaeology. I completed my studies in Siena where I've got a master in Preservation of Cultural Heritage. In 2008 I moved to Venice where I fell in love with this unique city and I decided then to stay for ever! I became a tourist guide because I like people and impress them. I love to show my city and let visitors discover its many wonders. My tours are not just meant to provide knowledge on the art, history and architecture of Venice but they are a fun experience too. I'm not a teacher delivering a boring lecture but a friend ready to fulfil your curiosity. Don't worry, weird questions are allowed too! Great tour! Very knowledgeable guide. I requested a tour of the Opera House. It was fantastic. She knew the entire history. Her English is perfect. Highly recommend.
A great tour! This was our first visit to Venice and with only 3 days there the tour was a great way to get to know and understand a little about Venice. Our guide Francesca was great, extremely knowledgeable and happy to adjust the tour to suit our needs. We spent 3 wonderful hours walking around the city much of which was thankfully away from the crowds! I think we got to see the real Venice as well as the very popular parts. Well worth doing.
Francesca was an outstanding guide. She showed us lots of different parts of Venice and explained the history of many landmarks. She was wonderful. We would absolutely book with her again!
Wonderful tour. Very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. One of the best tours we have had. Highly recommend
Francesca was a delight! She gave us an insider’s perspective of Venice with lots of informative history, language origins and local color. We enjoyed our time with her and gained an appreciation of Venice beyond what we originally anticipated. Highly recommend her services.
Francesca was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge of her city as well as her fantastic presentation of the heart and soul of this amazing center of early and late medieval power and glory was unbelievable. Her ability to mix her etymology of all the languages indigenous to this area was likewise a great plus for enhancing our experience. If you are interested in seeing and experiencing the true Venetian miracle..don't hesitate in taking her tour. Andy and Lynda
