Hello and welcome! My name is Romy, and I am a licensed tour guide born and raised in Venice. Growing up between Piazza San Marco and Rialto — the historic, political and symbolic heart of the city — has given me a deeply rooted understanding of Venice that combines lived experience with academic expertise. I hold two degrees from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, including a Master’s Degree (summa cum laude) in Art History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. I am currently pursuing advanced studies in Theological Hermeneutics of Christian Art in Florence, specializing in the interpretation of sacred space and its symbolic language. For many years I have guided private travelers, families, academic groups and culturally oriented visitors from around the world. I am particularly accustomed to working with discerning clients who seek depth, clarity and a thoughtful, well-structured experience rather than a superficial overview. My tours are private, flexible and fully customized to your interests, pace and schedule. Whether your focus is art, history, architecture, religion, or the broader civilization of the Venetian Republic, I aim to present Venice in a way that is both intellectually meaningful and deeply engaging. As a native Venetian, I can also introduce you to perspectives that are often missed — quieter neighborhoods, historical context, and the subtle details that reveal how the city truly functioned and still lives today. With me, Venice is not simply shown; it is interpreted and experienced. I work comfortably with first-time visitors as well as with repeat travelers who wish to go beyond the main sights and explore the city in a more reflective and authentic way. I am happy to collaborate with travel advisors, agencies and tour operators, and to design itineraries tailored to specific themes, time constraints or special requests. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, reliable and passionate guide who combines local insight with scholarly preparation and a calm, personal approach, I would be delighted to share my city with you. I look forward to welcoming you to Venice. - Summa cum Laude Master Degree in History of Arts and Conservation of Artistic Heritage, Cà Foscari University, Venice. - Summa cum Laude graduation in Anglo-American and Hispano-American Languages and Literatures, Cà Foscari University, Venice. - Currently studying Theological hermeneutics of christian art, Facoltà Teologica dell'Italia Centrale, Fi. - Accredited Tour Guide License n. 08000879 (n°184, RA.) - Tour Guide insurance: AXA 406271056. Being an accredited Tour Guide I have no restriction.

With a surface of 550 sqkm the lagoon of Venice is the biggest of Europe and is characterized by several little islands, formerly occupied by ancient monasteries. Nowadays, when referring to "Venice islands" we hint at the 3 most celebrated islands of the lagoon: Murano, Burano, and Torcello. I'll pick you up wherever you please and we'll board your private water limousine, a luxury wooden boat, and sailing the lagoon we will reach Murano, since 1291 the center of Venice famous artistic glass. You'll see the glass masters at work (not just a demo) in one of the finest glass factory of Murano and you'll visit its galleries. We'll then proceed towards the colorful Burano: originally inhabited by fishermen, in the XVI century it became the heart of Venice' traditional lace craftsmanship. I'll take you to a lace shop run by one of the oldest family where grandma still hand stitches the designs created by her son. You may have lunch, or even a glass of wine, in Torcello or Mazzorbo and a quiet, nice stroll there.
- We'll start in the most convenient place to you. - We'll board your luxury boat. - We'll sail towards Murano to visit a glass factory where you'll be able to attend a phase of glass production and visit the gallery of the factory. - Then we'll sail to Burano with its colorful houses, its elegant laces and its amazing and tasty biscuits, the "buranei". You'll understand why that lace became so famous. . . (one of my favourite gelato place is in Burano, so you may want to try it). - If you want to have lunch I'd suggest a beautiful restaurant with a garden in Torcello (or Mazzorbo). Depending on the time left, and on the month of the year, we may reach the top of its bell tower (lots of steps) or we may sail along the island of the Lido. - Back to Venice to a place of your choice. P. S. If in summer, and if you're willing to extend the tour of one hour, I'd love to take you to have a drink on the beach of glamorous Hotel Excelsior, where Hollywood actors/tresses stay during the Venice Film Festival.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
