My name is Lucrezia and I am a licensed tour guide in Venice! I was born and raised in the northern "Sestiere" (district) of Venice: Cannaregio. Since I was a child I've always been interested in other countries and cultures and I loved studying foreign languages, so I chose graduate in Literature and Foreign Languages and then got a master degree in Economics of Tourism and Arts at the University of Venice - Ca' Foscari. Meanwhile I had the chance to travel as well, I visited most of the European capitals and part of the United States, but I also spent some weeks in the UK, France, Spain and Russia to study. The love for my city, Venice, has never decreased over the years though and this is why I have decided to become a tour guide. My "mission" is to show travelers my city from a local's point of view, by sharing my passion and enthusiasm for my hometown with them, as only a local could do. Most of my tours are "off-the-beaten-track", since I think that, in order to see the true Venice, it's necessary to walk away from the crowds and from the touristy sites and walk through charming and quiet neighborhoods, looking for the hidden corners and peaceful streets of the city, where you can still feel the authenticity and the magic of this place. I love to focus also on local traditions, habits and lifestyle today and in the past, to let you see how it feels like to be a local in Venice! I'd like travelers to feel at home here, as if they were simply having a relaxing walk with a longtime Venetian friend! WHY YOU WOULD ENJOY A TOUR WITH ME? :) -I'm truly passionate about Venice and its traditions and I can take you in those hidden areas of the city that only true Venetians know; -I can customize all the tours for you, according to your preferences and interests; -If you'd like to see the "Highlights of Venice", such as Rialto Bridge, St. Mark's Sq. etc. , I can take you there and help you to unveil secrets and disclose stories even there, showing you the almost unperceivable signs that time left on the buildings; -I can guide you through the Islands of the lagoon: Murano, famous for the glass production, but also Burano, where we'll admire the famous colorful houses and, last but not least, Torcello; -I will mix historical details with hints about local traditions and lifestyle to make you feel like a local in Venice; -Would you prefer a food tour experience, to try the local "Cicchetti" and wines? I'm the queen of "aperitivo":) I can take you to the best local osterias in town! -During the tours I'll be happy to share useful hints for your pleasant stay in Venice!
