Elisabetta G. was very personable, and related the food to the history of Venice. Unhurrried. And the food was absolutely delicious! Ate local food, away from the crowds of tourists. I highly recommend.

Ciao , my name is Elisabetta ! ABOUT ME: I'm a born and bred (. . . and super proud !!!) venetian with a cosmopolitan soul and attitude . I grew up between Venice & Cortina D'Ampezzo (Dolomites), I always imagine myself with my feet in the lagoon and my head on the mountains and my heart shared between the 2 !!! Art and history nerd, basketball-addicted, nature ,humans and dogs lover and a "positivity engager". MY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND : I have a bachelor's degree in translation ( English, German and French ). During my university's years, I had unforgettable experiences abroad, which opened my mind and let me discover different cultures and ways of living. Places like New York City, Mainz, Strasbourg, Innsbruck, and Greece blew my mind. A piece of my heart is still in New York where I spent a wonderful time improving my English and playing basketball in every playground in the city. After a while, though I started to feel homesick, my beautiful, unique Venice was calling me back and so I moved back home. WORKING EXPERIENCES : Too many and too various to be listed here! ;) In short when I thought it was time for me to settle down I started working as a freelance translator. I did like it but, spending most of my time facing a Pc I knew I was missing something that I deeply needed: human interaction. Therefore I decided to approach tourism ( more than 15 years ago now!) trying to turn two of my greatest passions into a job: my endless love for Venice and my need of human interaction & my love for the Dolomites! Now I'm perfectly content with what I do and who chooses me as a guide can feel it! My tours show my passion for my hometown Venice and my second home Cortina d' Ampezzo & the Dolomites. MY MISSION : My mission is to offer you unique experiences in Venice & the Dolomites (Cortina d'Ampezzo & Cadore area)not simple tours. . . hopefully memories for a lifetime! Venice is such a special place and it deserves to be shown at its best, with love, respect, and deep knowledge . Same for Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Dolomites! MY VENICE : Every morning when I open my bedroom's window I feel overwhelmed by Venice's stunning beauty and I think to myself how lucky I am to live here. I want to let you feel the same way during your long or short stay in Venice! The real Venice you will discover with me is far away from the classical touristy spots and stereotypes, a delicate but lively city struggling to find its balance between history and contemporary life, past and present, tourists and residents, economic interests and sustainability. You will discover Venice's hidden gems and learn anecdotes, legends, local peculiarities and even some gossip that only a native can know. You will catch Venice's real essence and discover what lies beneath its fake, glossy touristy surface. You will live Venice like a local enjoying its true flavor. MY DOLOMITES (Cortina d' Ampezzo & Cadore) Thanks to my uncle I started hiking when I was a little girl learning how to explore and live the Dolomites in a respectful way and years later I decided to turn my passion into a profession studying to become a licensed nature & Hiking Guide and here I'm fully licensed and with a long hicking experience ! If you love to hike or simply you want to have a sightseeing tour on the Dolomites I will be happy to share my second home with you ! WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR GUIDE : People say I have a warm personality, witty and bubbly like a Prosecco-wine! :) You will feel at ease with me, you will have the feeling of moving around with your best ( venetian!) friend. All my friends call me simply "Betta" and my motto is : "Venice with Betta is better !". . . no kidding! And the Dolomites? Even the Dolomites with Betta are better of course ;)!!! What are you waiting for? I 'm looking forward to welcoming you in my wonderful Venice and in my charming Cortina d' Ampezzo ! Bacaro tour unblended means that we will do that in the pure Venetian way, not to lower levels. Venetians think that a Bacaro tour is much more than eating and drinking, is actually a kind of ritual. The bacari are more than simple wine-bars, they are institutions where locals go to socialise, relax and have fun . This tour is a full immersion into this local 'philosophy', a must-do if you really want to discover the most genuine Venice. We will explore Venice's back-streets to find the best bacari where you will mingle with locals. You will learn (and taste ) what 'Cicchetti' are ( and why you don't have to call it tapas !) and why we call 'ombra' a glass of wine. The tastiness of Cicchetti will delight your palate, the variety of wines will tickle your soul and the local atmosphere will win you over. This tour is a perfect introduction to Venice and will give you the confidence ( thanks to all my precious insider tips and info !) to keep exploring it by yourself avoiding the classical touristy traps

Absolut empfehlenswert!
Perfect tour to start our trip, we learned more in two hours than our two previous trips to Venice! We tasted food and drink we probably never would have ordered, this is a must do tour.
My sister and I enjoyed our tour of the backstreets of Venice with Elisabetta. We visited an open market including the fish market and coming from Alaska it was a joy to see fresh food ready for the table. We visited a number of backstreet shops and establishments that the locals frequent with a taste of the delicacies and some very nice wines. It was a very nice experience. Elisabetta loves Venesia and her knowledge and joy in sharing it with us was apparent.
We had the most amazing tour with Betta! She had so much knowledge and took us to the best hidden-away places in Venice. All of the food was unique and the wines paired perfectly. She sought ways to connect with us, all the way down to our home state, Arizona. She even sent us a cool picture the next day. I would highly recommend this tour, and especially Betta/Elisabetta.
Fantastic evening, wonderful guide, great company, great food & great wine!
-We will meet in Campo S. Bartolomeo a lively ' campo' close to the Rialto bridge to start with our mouthwatering adventure into the most genuine Venice. -Ready to go with the Venetian flow? Slow down and get ready to feel like a local. -Moving on the back-streets we will stop in 4 different Bacari where only local go to fully experience the Venetian ritual of a Bacaro tour! -You will taste 5 traditional cicchetti and 4 glasses of wines ( not forgetting our bubbly Prosecco!) learning their recipes, history and characteristics. -You will explore Venice walking from one bacaro to the other on quiet alleys full of atmosphere. -During the morning tour we will also visit the local Market (fish, fruit and vegetables ), from where the fresh ingredients used to prepare cicchetti to come. -The tour will end in 'Campo dell'Erbaria ' a lively little square close to the Rialto bridge on the Market side, a place full of history and other interesting bacari where to go after the tour.
