Ciao! I'm Isabella. Welcome to Venice and my ToursByLocals page! I was born in Padua in 1965 but I've lived in Venice for 40 years. I moved to Venice to attend college and settled down. After graduation in Anglo American literature I worked for the International Movie Festival, at the bookstore of Venice Civic Museums and for a while I devoted myself to teaching. In 1998 I approached tourism and got specialized in cruise excursions. A few years later I became a professional guide and decided to customize tours for private clients. I love food and cooking and that's why when touring I always talk about local specialties and culinary traditions. After many years I still get excited about my adoptive city. I'm very happy when I see people enjoying the time together and get dazzled by Venice beauty! Certified professional guide: Italian National Register of Tourist Guides # 08000034 Tour manager license # 591 (Veneto Region) Port Security Pass # 25231 (Venice Port Authority) Education: University Degree in Anglo-American Literature All my tours can be customized: do not hesitate to contact me! Licensed guides have no restrictions. For tours run on the mainland, I apply to professional drivers.

This tour by land and water offers a complete and intense understanding of the city. It can be a first step before focusing on museums and exhibitions or the one tour you take if you have limited time in town. We start our half day with two hours walking tour, covering the highlights and some hidden gems of Venice. We'll then get on board a private water taxi to cruise the Grand Canal and small canals. This tour is in the open: no entrance to churches or museums Even though everybody knows Venice through books, talks and documentaries, astonishment is great when you see it for real. Visitors feel excited by the architecture and its reflections in the water as we walk or cruise by private boat. This is why I decided to customized a tour that is a combination of my old "Venice Orientation" walk with one hour by boat. Our boat fits up to 8 people with a surcharge.

Isabella provided a very informative tour of Venice and was very accommodating to our disabled son.
Our first time Venice tour was a great recommendation for a day trip. We learned a lot about Venice proper and its sustainability. We’d really love to hear some additional history about st marks. Palace and their doges hosting job. Highly recommended.
Terrific tour. Isabella was super knowledgable, flexible, communicative, and enthusiatic. She is a great guide for adults and kids (we had three children with us). The pace and water taxi ride fit us well. Book with Isablella and enjoy the learning about the history and sights of Venice! She also provided great ideas and information for enjoying our time in Venice.
The walking and boat tour that Isabella took us on was fabulous! She explained all the things in Venice that states the beauty and magnificent of this great city. Her knowledge and experience of Venice was an unbelievable time we had. I would highly recommend Isabella for a tour when we come back. Victor W
Isabella met us exactly on time and was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The walking tour was not difficult, and the boat ride was a good way to finish the tour. Highly recommend!
-During this tour you will appreciate the beauty of Venice from two perspectives: land and water. - A pleasant walk we'll be followed by a private boat ride to see places you could hardly reach on own. - Cruising along the Grand Canal you can admire the palaces, the gardens and the bridges built long ago on a muddy ground and still here to tell us about their glorious past. - We'll wind into narrow canals whose banks are crowded with people doing their shopping or enjoying a glass of wine in the open. Option: at the end of the boat ride we can leave you at Murano for a real glass blowing experience (not later than 3, 30 pm)

The first part of the tour is on foot, the second one is by boat. Our boat is a private water taxi where you can sit both inside or outside.
