Grand Canal Private Boat Experience and Hidden Venice

Matteo was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought every place we visited to life with fascinating stories, history and details we never would have discovered on our own. He was also funny, friendly, personable and so easy to talk to—it genuinely felt like we were exploring with an old friend. Matteo went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, and his passion for what he does was obvious from beginning to end. He was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip! I cannot recommend him highly enough and would book another tour with him 100,000 times over. If you have the opportunity to tour with Matteo, do it—you will be so glad you did!

Walking through Venice with Matteo, and then having an hour-long boat ride through the grand canal and smaller canals was a truly wonderful experience. Matteo was so charming, friendly, and knowledgeable! We loved having a personal guide and periodic respites from the crowds of other tourists as he guided us through some of the lesser known narrow "streets" of Venice. Truly worth it!

Everything about this tour was EXCELLENT! Matteo's encyclopedic knowledge of Venice was only matched by his enthusiasm for storytelling and history. Our tour was on a Sunday which is a very crowded day for Venice, but Matteo navigated our tour in quiet alleys and hidden pathways so that we never felt overwhelmed by crowds despite still seeing many of the typical "highlights" of Venice. What was more impressive was going to the smaller, more local feeling places so that we could experience Venice as a true city not just a tourist destination. Finally, Matteo managed to secure a reservation at the last minute for dinner for us at a small restaurant with delicious food & excellent service in the Cannareggio neighborhood. It was a fitting end to a great day.

This was a wonderful tour--We took our 4 adult kids to Europe for the first time, and this trip just blew them away. One of the best guides we have ever had, and the boat ride was well worth the time and money. You can't go wrong

Matteo was excellent and we loved our time with him! He was so quick in responding to inquiries and was very flexible as we made our plans. We asked to make a last minute change to the itinerary and he immediately accommodated our wishes. We had the most amazing tour on a beautiful boat and then spent time in Burano enjoying a more quiet setting. Everyone in our group of 6 agreed that it was a 5 star day!
