Hello from beautiful Greece! My name is Markos! I will be more than happy to drive you through my Country's History and Civilization in my Licensed, Smoke-Free, air-conditioned, latest-model Mercedes Minivan or brand-new Mercedes Minibus! About 10 years ago, I decided to follow my passion and get involved in the tourism industry. More specifically, to share my passion and knowledge of my country, with people from all over the world. Ever since I was a child, I remember myself walking around the streets of my birthplace, Athens. While I was growing up, I started learning little by little, about my country's amazing history. It was at that time, as a child, that I realized the glory of Ancient Greek Civilization. I realized the global importance of Ancient Greek Characters, and I also realized the magnitude of the cultural and scientific wealth that Ancient Greece spread all around the world. My Studies are in the field of Healthcare and Management. I have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare and Social Units Administration from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. I also have a Master's degree in Health Management from the University of Piraeus. Furthermore, I have a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan. My writing and speaking skills in English are excellent. Other than my professional occupation, I am a guitarist at a professional level and a Marathon runner. Being a Private Tour Driver Guide is more than a job for me. It is a great opportunity, to introduce my country's history and culture, through its sites and monuments. It's not just a job for me, it is a way to meet people from all over the world and share my passion with them. I love my country and I really love my city. There are many ways by which a city can surprise you, but it is sometimes very difficult for a traveller to find them on their own. A local person, however, like me, can provide the full experience! This day trip is the best option for travelers that they want to enjoy the Greek countryside combined with unique archaeological sites and a local experience. Our first destinations will be Corinth, where I will show you the Corinth canal, the archaeological site of ancient Corinth and the Acropolis of Corinth, the AcroCorinth. On the way, I will share with you a lot of information about all the places that we will visit. I am also using informative videos in my vehicles screens, guidebooks and maps that will make your visit very exciting. Especially for the wine lovers, that they are interested to try Greek wine, this is it! I will take you to the best wineries of Nemea, known as the wine village! You don't find every day a small village with over 40 wineries! I will arrange everything for you, in order to make the most out of your time. Nemea is a place full of history, so we have the opportunity to visit the local archaeological site, which will be very interesting, not crowded and easy to walk around.
Vincenzo provided us with a great private tour where we walked the Mount Etna Lava fields, which were incredible. He would explain everything about the areas and answered all our questions. We saw a lot of the beautiful countryside. We had lunch and a wine tasting where we really enjoyed the Etna wines. He was very responsive in to answer our questions and provide options for wineries and lunch. Thank you Vincenzo!
Our wine and history tour of the Peloponnese and Nemea with Markos was a great day trip from Athens. Markos is an excellent driver with a comfortable clean car. We went first to the Corinth Canal. Next on to the Archeological site of Ancient Corinth which includes a large Temple of Apollo. This is also where the Apostle Paul spent about 18 months including time on a judgement seat, where his case was dismissed. Paul wrote several letters there, which are included in the New Testament as First and Second Corinthians. There is also a small but interesting museum. We next went to the Ktima Bairaktaris winery which is very modern and had an enjoyable tasting of white, rose and red wines – we bought a case that will be shipped home. Finally, lunch at Marinos restaurant in Corinth– as usual one of our favorite activities.

We had a great day with Markos. The van is extremely comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the conversation and learned a lot about Greek culture.
My wife and I did the Nemea Wine tour with Markos during a recent trip to Athens and it was wonderful. We stopped at the Corinth Canal which was interesting but be warned it's very windy and crowded. Then we did ancient Corinth which, if you love archeological sites, is amazing. Standing on the podium where St Paul was tried by the Romans is simply mind boggling. Then it was time for lunch at Marino's which was fabulous. Be aware there's a bit of driving but worth it. We highly recommend this tour. Enjoy
Markos was great, thoughtful, knowledgeable and prompt. None of us had been outside of Athens proper and he showed us places we would never have found otherwise especially the Acropolis of Corinth as well as the canal and we experienced a genuine Greek meal Memorable day!
We start our Tour from Athens, we will drive westwards, along with the beautiful scenic coastal, until we finally reach the CORINTH CANAL. (60 min) We will make a short stop and then, in about 15-20 minutes we will reach the ANCIENT CORINTH. During ancient times, the town of Corinth was considered one of the richest cities in Greece. Afterward, we will drive through vineyards and olive trees, all the way to NEMEA. (20 min) At this point, we will visit one or two LOCAL WINERIES and you will have the opportunity to taste some exceptional Greek Wines. Nemea is the place where Hercules killed the Lion and where the Nemean Games took place. (45 min) After our visit to the Wineries, we will visit the TEMPLE OF ZEUS and the ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF NEMEA. After the exploration to Nemea, I will take you to the best local restaurant around this area for fantastic Greek food. (90 min) The itinerary is flexible, we can make functional changes at any time.
