My name is Anastasia and I am an archeologist, an art historian, and a licensed tour guide since 2014. My working languages are English, Italian, and Greek. I was born and raised in Athens where I took also my first degree in Greek Archeology and History of Art at the University of Athens. Later I moved abroad for postgraduate studies in Italian Art history In Warwick-England, Glasgow-Scotland, and Fribourg- Switzerland. Therefore I lived for a prolonged time in other European cities mostly in England, Scotland, and Italy. I've also worked in different positions in the history of Art ( various museums, art galleries, and institutions like the Fondazione Cini in Venice) as an archeologist in the American School for Classical Studies in Athens and as a lecturer in different educational institutes. I consider myself a citizen of the world and I do enjoy bringing people together and immersing them in the beauty and culture of my country. Art history is my passion and I am a keen reader and traveler. Apart from art history, I love cinema, photography, fashion, and most of all wine since I am a certified expert in wine having a set 3rd level in Wine and Spirits I do believe that the world of Wine is inspirational and fascinating. Therefore the range of my tours varies. I organize and offer archeological and art-historical tours in all the big museums and archeological sites, wine tours, and wine tastings for wine lovers. I also provide tailor-made tours that match my visitors' interests and passions. I believe that Culture, Wine, and Travel bring people together and two of my favorite quotes are "The world is my oyster" and "The world is a book, and those that do not travel read only a page. 1. This tour reveals what the Acropolis was in the ancient times. You will discover the Athenian classical period which was the peak of the Greek civilization through the various myths and legends and through the history and the studying of the monuments. The tour includes a visit to the Archeological site of the Acropolis and to the new Acropolis Museum. Sigmund Freud, when he first climbed on the sacred rock, realized that all of these - the Acropolis itself was real. We quote from "A Disturbant memory of the Acropolis": "When, finally, on the afternoon after our arrival, I stood on the Acropolis and cast my eyes around upon the landscape, a surprising thought suddenly entered my mind: So all this really does exist, just as we learnt at school! If I may make a slight exaggeration, it was as if someone, walking beside Loch Ness, suddenly caught sight of the form of the famous Monster stranded upon the shore and found himself driven to the admission: So it really exists.
We will see the magnificent Parthenon, the sophisticated Erehtheion , the elegant temple of Athena Nike and the imposing Propylaia. We will admire two theatres the theatre of Dionysos which is the first theatre that was ever created and the Roman theatre, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus which is still in use. The tour will continue in the newly founded Acropolis museum to admire the ex votos -statues of the Acropolis as well as the architectural members of the temples. The tour includes the visit in the Acropolis archeological site that has a fee of 30 euros and the visit in the Museum of Acropolis that has a fee of 20 euros. The duration of the tour is 3,5 to 4 hours and half time will be spent in the Acropolis and half time in the Acropolis museum. * This itinerary can be customized.
