Ya sas, and welcome to Athens! My name is Alexandros but my friends call me Alex. I will be your local guide in Athens. They say that "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there. " So, from an early age I had realized what I always wanted to do; visit both the past and many different countries. This is why I became an archaeologist and a tour guide. I have an academic background in History and Archaeology as well as in Museology and Cultural Management. I am a museum educator, working both with children and grown-ups. Guiding walks is not merely about providing information, but mostly about sharing with visitors my experience as a local. It's not about explaining how or when Athens became the center of the ancient world, but why the city became so important and why it is still so unique. My greatest passion is traveling; As a traveler myself, I believe I know what a guest wishes to discover in a new travel destination. I always try to identify myself with the visitors and show them aspects of the city that I would like to view if I were in their position. I love reading books, learning foreign languages and listening to good music. I am always enthusiastic to introduce visitors to the city's history, culture and life, focusing on the classical sites and the modern aspects of Athens. I am looking forward to meeting you .
