Hello from Greece, My name is Xenofontas! I was born and raised in Athens. I am a graduate of the University History and I worked for years as tour guide. My passion for history inspired me to establish my own travel agency, which has proudly earned a place among the top 10 travel agencies in Athens. I have been working for the past 10 years as a professional licensed tour driver all over Greece. I spent several years as a driver tour guide gaining the necessary experience and finally created my own travel business. I have a license from the Ministry of Tourism. In order to improve the quality of my services to travelers, I studied and graduated of Master of Business of Tourism and at the same time passed the exams and obtained a proficiency certification of Michigan University. With years of experience and love for tourism, I organize private minivan tours, providing all the comforts to the customers. The minivans are new vehicles and in excellent condition, offering customers all modern comforts such as air conditioning and WiFi. During a trip I want to give information, to tell stories like myths so that the client can assimilate the culture and the traditional with the best way. Greece is a country with a rich cultural heritage and history and offers me the opportunity to share my knowledge with people who are interested in learning about our culture and civilization. I feel very lucky doing this job. Every time on the tour I will give my best so that travelers can learn useful things about modern Greece, ancient Greece, food, traditions, arts and culture I am a guide-driver but not a licensed guide to accompany in any site. This means I provide many information, but I don't follow you inside of the historical monuments. We toured Meteora Monasteries with Xenofontas. His employee, Cristiano, drove expertly thru Athens traffic & the 3.5 hours to the monasteries. He was respectful, polite, and insightful about the monastery history. An interesting person. Now, the monasteries: SPECTACULAR!! The most dramatic natural sites imaginable. Easily as dramatic as our Grand Canyon. Impossible creations by Nature and impossible constructions by humans. Well work the long drive. Access walks & steps are solid & well maintained and safe.

One of the most amazing day trips I have ever taken. I have seen beautiful mountains, rock formations, and ancient churches in both North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, but nothing quite like the monasteries above Meteora. They are beautiful in a thrilling and awesome location. Truly motivational. Our guide was fascinating and fantastic. Before returning to Athens, we ate at his favorite taverna in the area, which was simply classically Greek. We loved the day, the locale, and our guide.

Your Athens tour itinerary

Our tour will start from your accommodation or the cruise ship port in Athens and we will drive to the various locations, our stations in Meteora is: *Kastraki, 45 minutes *Meteora, 25 minutes *Agios Stefanos Monastery, 25 minutes *Varlaam Monastery, 35 minutes *Great Meteoron Monastery, 1 hour *Holy Trinity Monastery (Agia Triada), 10 minutes *Roussanou Monastery, 10 minutes *Agios Nikolaos Anapaphsas Monastery, 10 minutes *Kalabaka, pass by without stopping -Once reach the Meteora in Kalampaka you can visit the monasteries and take great photos of this fascinating place. - Before we head back you can have a lunch tasting some delightful traditional dishes at a nearby small stone-built village named "Kastraki". -Then, we will return to Athens. * Keep in mind that we are never in a hurry and always ready to change the itinerary according to your needs.
