Welcome! I am George and I was born and raised in Athens. I have been working for the past 25 years as a professional licensed tour driver all over Greece. My major studies have been in Computer programming and Economics. Since school I had a great passion for history. I also love driving and I would love to drive you around Athens and Greece in my clean and air-conditioned Mercedes van. Due to a broad array of interests I can discuss subjects ranging from mythology, ancient history, culture and philosophy to modern Greek history and culture. I feel very lucky doing this job, which allows me to show you not only my country but make you feel as a Greek for a while. I am a professional driver and can provide you private tours with all variety of vehicles such as minivan,minibus,bus and coaches I am a guide-driver but not a licensed guide .This means i provide many information from inside my luxurus 2015 Mercedes minivan we tour around but i dont follow outside,so i will not be able to walk you and guide you inside of the historical monuments.

Your private tour will start from your hotel in Athens and head to the central mainland of Greece. Our first stop is the battlefield of Thermopylae or Hotgates and the Hot Springs, where King Leonidas and the 300 brave Spartans gave their lives for the freedom of Greece. Honor and Glory was their moto. They achived both, as their memory lasts for ever. Drive towards Trikala, Karditsa, Kalambaka and Kastraki, finally we reach the Meteora monasteries. They come second in relegious importance and size after mount Athos in orthodox christianity. The monasteries are: St. Nicolas, Grande Meteoro, Varlaam, Rousannou, Holy Trinity and St. Stephen. There you will visit up to 3 monasteries, depends on the day, you will have the chance to admire the wonderful, panoramic view and when you feel hungry get ready to taste the famous Greek cuisine and have a memorable lunch. The tour will guide you to a traditional tavern at Trikala away from tourist traps. After lunch its time to return to Athens safely and satisfied.
George was warm, witty, fun and extremely knowledgeable. He mixed his personal stories in with the historical sights we were viewing. His personal touch made this an outstanding tour. I would highly recommend him if you are planning a visit to Athens.
George was so great to work with. He answered my many many questions promptly and professionally. After finally choosing the one day tour over the two day tour to Meteora, we were glad we did. One day is plenty if you don't need to see the interiors of each monastery. It makes for a long day drive but George made it easier with his stops to break it up. He was also very personable and quite knowledgeable about his homeland and sites. A good ambassador for Greece.
George arrived at our hotel just before our scheduled departure time. He is very cordial and kind. He opens the door for the lady(s) and is always attentive to the needs of his passengers. Whether you may need a washroom break or need a snack he will make a stop when possible. He also had cold water bottles in a cooler available to us. He is very knowledgeable in Greek history. We took the long trip to Meteora and it was nice to have a private driver so that we could get there earlier before it was busy.
We very much enjoyed our tour with George and found the monasteries to be very special. After the monestaries, George made a special stop at a small church so we could experience the beautiful flowers and appreciate how The Greek Orthodox Church mourns the death of Christ on Good Friday. Our dinner at a seaside restaurant was ideal. George's English is very good, but his accent and the road noise made it hard for the passengers in the second and third rows to hear. George is well prepared. He knows a lot about Greek mithology, general history, politics and ... soccer. Very punctual, he was a great guide during the 12 hour-tour. Meteora is, for sure, one of the the most amazing places where I and my family have ever been. For lunch, George recommended a local restaurant that we loved. And was very kind offering a tipical sweet snack on our way back to Athens. In a word, the day was PERFECT.
