Ya sas, and welcome to Athens! My name is Alexandros but my friends call me Alex. I will be your local guide in Athens. They say that "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there. " So, from an early age I had realized what I always wanted to do; visit both the past and many different countries. This is why I became an archaeologist and a tour guide. I have an academic background in History and Archaeology as well as in Museology and Cultural Management. I am a museum educator, working both with children and grown-ups. Guiding walks is not merely about providing information, but mostly about sharing with visitors my experience as a local. It's not about explaining how or when Athens became the center of the ancient world, but why the city became so important and why it is still so unique. My greatest passion is traveling; As a traveler myself, I believe I know what a guest wishes to discover in a new travel destination. I always try to identify myself with the visitors and show them aspects of the city that I would like to view if I were in their position. I love reading books, learning foreign languages and listening to good music. I am always enthusiastic to introduce visitors to the city's history, culture and life, focusing on the classical sites and the modern aspects of Athens. I am looking forward to meeting you . Licensed Tourist Guide (Greek Ministry of Tourism) Bachelor's Degree in History (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) Master's Degree in Museology & Cultural Management (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Carpe That Tour! I love navigating in my ever-surprising city and I know there's just too much to see in Athens but before you think you have no time, I am here to tell you that there are plenty of incredible things to do without spending more than a day. Yes, it might seem like a lot of walking but there are short distances between each of the locations so it is broken up into a lot of short stops from place to place. In this 8- hour private tour of Athens, we will have the opportunity to discover the highlights of Athens, including the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the ancient Greek Agora, and some of the most beautiful neighborhoods like Plaka and Monastiraki. Our itinerary will lead us to the modern parts of Athens as well, where we will visit Syntagma Square, the National Garden, the Zappeion Mansion, the Panathenaic Stadium, the temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch.
The tour will start with a visit of the Acropolis Sacred Rock. We will begin with the South Slope and the majestic theater of Dionysus, the temple of Asclepius, the spectacular Roman Music Hall, before we head to the imposing temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea, the monumental gate to the Acropolis. We will have the unique opportunity to admire the city's most prestigious temple, the Partheon and the Erechtheion temple, a masterpiece of ancient Greek architecture. Our tour will continue with the new Acropolis Museum, where we will discover its unique collections. Our next stop will be in the Agora, the center of ancient Athens.
