This is one of my favourite tours! I like Mycene for its exciting mythical past, every stone reminds me of Homer and greek tragedy. It was the home of King Agamemnon, hero of the Trojan, who was murdered for revenge the day he returned. The theatre of Epidaurus lies in the middle of a peaceful valley. The moment we stand in the center of the orchestra is what my clients remember the most. The acoustic is excellent and nearby is the secret tomb of the greek god of medicine. Another reason I deliver this tour is Nauplio town. I always enjoy to stroll in the narrow streets with the historical buildings and the small cafes. Join me discover this beautiful area!
• We leave Athens in south destination. Passing by Eleusis and Salamis we mention the homonymous battle and the ancient Eleusinian mysteries. • After an hour, short stop at Corinth canal. • The drive continues for 45 minutes through hills and vineyards. • At Mycene, we visit the Acropolis, and the tomb of Agamemnon. We walk to the Lions gate and the Grave circle where the famous gold mask was found. We discover the entrance to the underground cistern and spend some time in the museum. • Short distance to Nauplio, first capital of Greece. Orientation walk and free time. • 40 min to Epidaurus. We visit the theatre where we can test the amazing acoustic. In the rest of the archaeological site we see the Tholos where the sacred snakes and the rooms of the healing rituals. •Optional wine taste in the wineries of Nemea
