My name is Anastasia and I am an archeologist, an art historian, and a licensed tour guide since 2014. My working languages are English, Italian, and Greek. I was born and raised in Athens where I took also my first degree in Greek Archeology and History of Art at the University of Athens. Later I moved abroad for postgraduate studies in Italian Art history In Warwick-England, Glasgow-Scotland, and Fribourg- Switzerland. Therefore I lived for a prolonged time in other European cities mostly in England, Scotland, and Italy. I've also worked in different positions in the history of Art ( various museums, art galleries, and institutions like the Fondazione Cini in Venice) as an archeologist in the American School for Classical Studies in Athens and as a lecturer in different educational institutes. I consider myself a citizen of the world and I do enjoy bringing people together and immersing them in the beauty and culture of my country. Art history is my passion and I am a keen reader and traveler. Apart from art history, I love cinema, photography, fashion, and most of all wine since I am a certified expert in wine having a set 3rd level in Wine and Spirits I do believe that the world of Wine is inspirational and fascinating. Therefore the range of my tours varies. I organize and offer archeological and art-historical tours in all the big museums and archeological sites, wine tours, and wine tastings for wine lovers. Overview of your Athens tour
An one day tour to the land of the Achaeans as they are described in the Iliad of Homer. Argolida is a plain surrounded by the Sea for about 14 km. Very rich and fertile , one of the major agricultural areas and the hub the mycenenan civilisation. Mycene, the richest city in gold according to Homer will be our first stop. We will be able to see the Lion Gate, the most ancient monumental sculpture of Europe, the Cyclopean Walls , the infamous palace of the King Agamemnon where he was killed according to myth of Aeschylus and the remarkable Royal Tombs of Agamemnon, Clytaimnistra and her lover Aigisthos. Leaving behind us this most remarkable city of the Late bronze age we will head towards Epidaurus , where we will continue our pilgrimage towards the sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of the Medicine. There we will get an insight on how it was an ancient pilgrim place, we will also understand the ancient methods of medicine and cure and we will admire the most well preserved ancient greek theatre.
