Corinth the center of early Christianity & Mycenae, the kingdom of heroes.

Paul’s letters to the Corinthians are foundational texts for Christian theology. We will visit one of the great cities of antiquity , Corinth. Homer describes that the city of Mycenae was rich in gold and well fortified. The gold that was discovered by Schliemann in the graves that we will see and it weighted 14 kilos ! The Cyclopian walls are still standing high after 3. 500 years as a proof to the greatness of the ancient civilisation that flourished in this soil. Standing before the famous Lion Gate, its massive stone lintel adorned with two proud lionesses, you'll feel the weight of history pressing down on you. We will keep for the end Nafplio. First capital of Greece and my favourite town.

1. Start our day early in the morning and head South , to Corinth in the Peloponnese, the Southern peninsula of Greece. (1hour) 2. Stop at the Canal of Corinth and walk on the bridge to see the breathtaking views of this man made Isthmus. (20') 3. Drive to the ancient ruins of Corinth. (15') 4. Visit the beautiful museum and the ancient sanctuary where Paul lived for more than a year . (1 hour) 5. Drive to the ancient city of Mycenae. (45') 6. Visit the ancient Acropolis and the treasury of Atreas (1hour) 7. Drive to the city of Nafplio and visit the old town for a walk , and a typical Greek lunch in one of the many tavernas.
