Hello !! My name is Spyridoula and I am a licensed Greek Guide, based in Athens, Greece. Being a licensed guide in Greece means that you have studied for 2 years in a special Guides Academy which is under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism and have traveled all over Greece for ad hoc training. Besides being a guide, I have a solid background in the cultural field. I am a specialist in Archives and Museums Studies as I hold a PHD in the field of Digital Humanities and a Post Doc in a combination of Digital Humanities- Sociology and Economics. I have been an active researcher and university professor- not continuously- in the above fields since 2009 . But I don't give lectures during my tours!! I like having fun with people, because I love people!! I have met people from all over the world, people of various backgrounds and ethnicities and every time I realize that despite our superficial differences, we have too many things in common. So, being a guide is a gift for me!! A gift for the soul and mind! I do tours all over Greece and I am open to special inquiries from my future visitors. I am looking forward to meeting you!!!

Unlock a hidden side of the classical world on this 4 1/2-hour immersive walking tour through the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. While the marble temples tell stories of gods and wars, they also hold the secrets of a society where same-sex bonds were foundational to civic life, philosophy, and military prowess. Tour Highlights: The Acropolis: Explore the "queer" nature of Athena and not only The Acropolis Museum: View the ancient statures and pottery through a "queer eye," decoding the aesthetics of male beauty. The Ancient Agora: Stand at where the world’s first public memorial to a same-sex couple used to be, celebrated as the "Liberators of Democracy." Visit the Agora Museum . Walk the paths of Socrates and Plato to discuss how Eros was seen as the ultimate spark for intellectual growth and political freedom. Experience Athens not just as a ruin of the past, but as the birthplace of an identity that still resonates today.
